This bay is just a delight. There are a couple of dog friendly places but not as many as Perranporth!

This has to be one of the greatest beaches at all times of day, with the surf, sand and The Island, plus great facilities at the Porthmeor Beach Cafe and Take Away, and the West Beach cafe. does get very busy in season but it is a great place all year round.

This is the best beach for surfing in St Ives and for watching all the surfers out in the sea catching waves!
It can get quite busy but is great . We walked around towards Clodey point which has some great views of the beach with loads of benches to sit on and watch all the activities.
Another beautiful clean beach, good cafe and toilets too. Cornwall is amazing for its beaches!

Our apartment was situated right on Porthmeor Beach so we felt extremely lucky to be staying her. The beach is lovely, gets very busy in the height of summer - we were there for the last bank holiday in August and it was like being abroad! There is a great surf school, restaurant and takeaway further down the beach. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked for the whole week we were there so didn't get to try it. The prices at the surf school are very reasonable for hiring wetsuits and equipment. There are beautiful sunsets on Porthmeor Beach and it has the sun for nearly all of the day. People do tend to set up their pitches early so if you get a favourite spot you may need to go and claim it with your windbreaker! Fantastic holiday!
