We shared a fish and chips lunch here and were very pleased with the meal. What especially made my day were the FRESH mushy peas. Delicious! Plus, this pub has some great views of the harbor and serves food most of the day.

Well I expected pub food and was disappointed! This place is a gem fresh calamari starter followed by the days special of Sea Bass fillet which was all amazing. Definitely would recommend this place well done guys.

We had the most amazing fish n chips ever at The Golden Lion. We reserved the table early as we were hoping to see/listen to the Fisherman's Friends, sadly they were not performing that evening due to The Royal Cornwall Show. We were so pleased that we still went along as the Fish and Chips were fab. The fish was chunky and white and the batter was light, crispy and just perfect, the chips were well cooked too with a little pot of peas to compliment the dish. Compliments to the chef and "Fish for Thought" for supplying such amazing fish...

Arrived in rain and close to 3:00 on a Sunday ... Friendly staff said no problem and made sure kitchen stayed open to give us the best and freshest cod and chips we have had for a long time. No processed food here and the service was very friendly in the old fishermans bar, no pretence and no glitz. They even said if we wanted a pasty then we were welcome to buy one next door and bring it in. Pint of Tribute was spot on and very welcome. Proper pub and feel of being for locals. Would always go here. The four of us agreed it was very good.

Pleasant old pub in beautiful Port Isaac. We booked a table for 5pm. The food was, quite simply excellent. Ordered the mussels for starters and wished i'd ordered them for main as well - they most likely came out of the sea about 50 yards away. Although, the chuck burger was up there with the best and the chicken skewers were great too. Plenty of selection on the menu, good service, lovely views and if you're there on a friday you'll be able to listen to the Fishermen singing from the beach just outside.
