Early May lunch in Polperro, lovely sunny day so decided to scale the rock face that is the stairway to the Three Pilchards sun terrace! Well worth the effort. Superb views of the harbour and the roofs of Polperro. Decided to try the crab salad, awesome, pickled veg coleslaw and local crab with the lightest bread. Good ales well kept. Excellent service from the waiters (sherpas!) Friendly and professional.

Stunning review - very pleased to hear you had the weather to enjoy your meals in our harbour view roof top beer garden - well worth the climb as you point out :)
Our staff are a real asset to us and we are very pleased you enjoyed the service you received.

This is a great pub for a number of reasons. Very friendly and efficient staff even when it's busy and the food is excellent. We had one of the best lunches here (the chicken burger is the best I've ever had) and the fish and chips was pretty damn good. What is lovely is that you can sit on one of two terraces and look over the whole of Polperro. Definitely worth a visit whatever the weather. Excellent value too.

We came here on a visit to Polperro, what a very welcoming landlady and a gorgeous friendly pub dog Jake the collie. We opted for the famous fish pie and it did not disappoint. Packed full of lovely fish in a creamy sauce topped by wonderful mash and cheese - served piping hot. Would have loved a pudding but just could not manage it ! Good selection of real ales and the wine was very nice too. Would recommend this lovely traditional old pub in a beautiful setting of Polperro harbour

They have a great roof top terrace ( up some steep stairs but sheltered from the wind and nice in the sun). Food was excellent! Chips even better! Alpaca burger was on the menu but not available so I had a pork burger which was tasty. Others had crab sandwich on bloomer. All enjoyed our meals, and cloudy cider too. Downstairs seating was cosy and in traditional old style building - lots of character. Right on the harbor.

I quite enjoyed eating here. The pub has changed a bit, what with young bar staff, menu. They did not have fresh fish, except battered monkfish. Not bad meals served

Thank you for your review - we have made quite substantial changes to the pub over the last 18 months to the decor of the pub and quite naturally staff do change over time.
Our new menu was launched in January and does contain quite a number of Fresh fish dishes - Scallops, Tiger Prawns, A Cold Fish Platter, Various Crab dishes, various prawn dishes as well as Cod and Chips and Fish Pie. The Monkfish would have been on our specials board which does change regularly and we try and create very different dishes from the normal menu.
Hopefully on your return we may have some new Fish Specials again :)
