I had such a super time with my boyfriend and this very well designed boutique hotel. I just fell in love with the decor and our room was number 15 which is new for 2016. Very well designed, massive comfy beds and voluptuous pillows (my boyfriend wanted to take them home). The roll top bath was the icing on the cake.

We had a 3 course meal in the hotel and everything was super tasty. We could not eat it all as we were stuffed near the end. The english breakfast in the morning was very well received and was very well cooked.

I am a lover of boutique hotels and I will be of course going back to this one on the future :)

four of us stayed in room 25 for the first 2 nights, as we are no spring chickens we didn't realize it was 3/4 floors up with no lift.
Apartment smelt of drains as you entered into the kitchen from the entrance.
Lounge was spacious and well equiped out. Bed rooms where small and very little space to hang clothes. Bathroom very poorly organised with a normal lampshade over the sink, and too close to the slanting roof,

Room Tip: Best rooms we saw where 4 + 5

We stayed here during half term with our two children aged 8 & 10.

Having arrived on the overnight sleeper from London early in the morning, we went straight to the hotel for breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and were able to have our room ready by the time we'd finished eating.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with a sea view.
It is a nicely laid out apartment, but a few things let it down....
Large stain on sitting room carpet, broken arm of sofa, none of the ceiling light fittings had been finished, also the option of two singles/zip together bed would have been good for families.

None of the things above ruined the stay at all, but the hotel seems a bit shabby (not in a chic way!)

Overall this is a well positioned hotel, really close to everything you'll need.

The apartment views are lovely and it is well equipped for self catering if you choose to.

Stayed here for one night with my partner. The Artist Residence is absolutely stunning - the decor is thoughtful and fun; the staff were helpful and friendly and the location in Penzance is great.

Although there is no parking there is a public car park just down the road that was not overly expensive.

Following our check in we did not leave the hotel as it had everything we wanted. The cocktails and choice of drink at the bar is great. We particularly enjoyed the garden and played Ping Pong for hours. Dinner was superb - menu is limited but you can't fault the food. Breakfast was equally as good the following morning.

Our only complaint is that we both had an awful nights sleep for a number of reasons. The room was incredibly warm (I can't imagine what it's like in the summer!). We could not open the window due to drinkers in the garden and the fan provided was noisy. Furthermore, the smoke detector had an extremely bright flashing light that woke us both up numerous times during our stay. We also found the mattress uncomfortable but I'm aware that's a personal thing.

All in all we enjoyed the stay - shame it was let down by a few minor issues.

We always stay here for a couple of nights before catching the ferry to Isles of Scilly and it always starts our holiday off perfectly. We stayed in the gallery loft on our latest stay which offers two single beds on a mezzanine floor for our boys. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow but our three and five year old just about mastered them, with a bit of supervision! All rooms have really funky art on the walls. One small gripe was the very small bathroom in this particular room but they are bigger in others we stayed in.

The restaurant is excellent with an amazing selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian Cornish style tapas. The breakfasts are great too. There is a lovely lounge and cocktail bar adjacent to the restaurant as well. Great selection of beers and ales too.

Despite being a very hip and trendy hotel we always feel really welcome as a family and the boys love the 'festival garden' with the Fußball table and ping pong table; and we love the bar.
