This hotel is just beautiful, the staff were so lovely and helpful, we arrived early as the traffic was good and they kindly booked us straight in. The room was fresh and clean with the best view out to sea and looking back towards Newquay beaches. The only thing that let it down was the hot tub was out of order (which no one warned us about on check in) we were told it would be working the next morning but it was still broken. As this was one of the main reasons we stayed at the hotel, we found this very disappointing.

Room Tip: All rooms looked to have a great view.

Thank you for your comments on our lovely, helpful staff, we do ensure that all guests receive the warmest of welcomes, and that we ensure that the best possible customer service is given at all times.
We do always make sure that any guests arriving before check-in time are welcomed and are able to park their car and use all our facilities, and if their room is ready that they can begin their holiday early.
It sounds as though you were very impressed with your room...... our housekeeping team ensure all rooms are spotless, and the views- well- our private island views are spectacular- so glad you enjoyed them.
Please accept my apologies that our indoor hot tub was out of order and that you were not informed of this on check in- this is very unusual, however essential maintenance was being carried out, all works were carried out and fixed within 72 hours, but I am sorry if you did not get the opportunity to use this facility, I hope that you did enjoy the indoor swimming pool, steam room and sauna, and we do hope that you will stay with us again, when you will be able to make use of our hot tub.

My wife and I have just returned from a short trip to Cornwall. Although an old hotel, the decor suited it and gave the feeling of being transported to the 1920's / 1930's, this hotel was just brilliant and will definitely recommend it.
Even though the wind did blow and there was some occasional rain, the view from our room was simply stunning. The robes and slippers were just great, especially for use to the pool & back. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and to have eggs cooked fresh for you was a nice touch.
Could not fault the evening meals in Silks Bistro either, something tasty different each evening. Will definitely consider returning.

Thank you for a lovely review, it sounds as though you and your wife thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us.
Thank you for your comments on our decor, having just celebrated our 125th anniversary, our iconic hotel is full of original features mixed with an art deco themed modern decor with black and white marble tiles, twinkling chandeliers and sweeping staircases.
Unfortunately, we have seen our fair share of wind and rain this Winter and even snow for the first time in 9 years - but we are so glad that the weather is warming and spring is definitely in the air! Great to hear however that the weather did not affect your stay or the stunning sea view from your bedroom window.
I am glad that you were impressed and made use of our complimentary fluffy robes and slippers, we know that little extras really make your stay, and it is lovely to don your robes and slippers and head for some rest and relaxation in our sea view spa and swimming pool.
Thank you for your comments on breakfast- we are so proud of the quality and great selection that we provide served in our sea view breakfast dining room, and we feel that a freshly cooked full English, with eggs of your choice cooked to order sets us apart.

We decided to take a break from our normal hotel in Newquay and booked a last minute one night break to the Atlantic.
We were not disappointed, lovely Art Deco entrance and furnishings, fantastic sea facing room with panoramic vistas of the coast and sea, chandeliered bedroom, spacious bathroom with roll top bath.
We enjoyed the indoor pool and Jacuzzi/sauna and steam room which was spotlessly clean and well appointed with towels and drinking water, my only complaint was the lack of plastic flute glasses in which our prosecco could have been served whilst the wife and I luxuriated in the tub overlooking the Atlantic, we did struggle on though with the pint plastic glasses that the waiter produced. Apart from hardships such as this we had a ball, the food in the restaurant was top drawer, the cream tea freshly prepared and impeccably served to our table in the afternoon, the evening meal was an absolute triumph in the Silks Restaurant, excellently cooked and promptly served, attentive service being evident throughout the dinner, delightful and reasonably priced cocktails pre dinner followed up with a good wine list and after dinner choice of whiskies and brandy.
Note and appreciation must be made of the staff both at the reception desk in particular a mention for Denise who took my booking and the other reception staff who quickly answered and satisfied any problems that we had such as forgetting the lock combination number for the swimming pool door (old age is a terrible thing). The Maître D in the Silks Restaurant, whose name escapes me, should also be commended for attention to detail and the way he runs his staff, friendly but professional whilst keeping a discourse with customers.
All in all an excellent stay and in the words of Patton, "we shall return".

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weekend trip to lovely Cornwall. We loved this hotel and have recommended it to all our friends and family. The view from our room was simply stunning and we loved taking advantage of the hot tub and pool facilities. We booked through secret escapes and we couldn't fault our room one bit. Everything from the cleanliness, to the robes and slippers was just great. The breakfast in the morning was nice and the location is brilliant. (We loved the complimentary car parking for guests too.) The highlight of our trip had to be the Silks Bistro. We had the most amazing three course dinner, we didn't want it to end! Thank you for an unforgettable and totally relaxing stay!

Drove down and back to Newquay in rain but entire stay was blue skies and warm days. Had stayed at the Headland before but the Atlantic is equally 4 star but more warmer and personal. Great food, accommodation and plenty of leisure space with amazing views over sea and town. Will stay again.
