“WOW Amazing !!! Great holiday in a perfect cottage”

WOW, Amazing !!!!

We stayed at seahorse cottage for a week and we cannot even begin to put in words the brilliant time we had. Seahorse cottage is probably the best accommodation we have ever stayed in – without doubt 5* (and we have travelled and stayed at lot of places).

I’m not sure even where to begin because there are so many good things to say. Firstly, I would concur with everything the first reviewer said. The cottage has everything you could ever want and more.

Myself and my partner stayed there and we had no children but it is certainly well equipped if you do. The attention to detail is amazing and there is everything you could ever want. The quality is outstanding, high quality bedding, towels, comfy beds, top quality shower/bath, amazing views.

The kitchen / dining area was extremely well equipped with a utility room off. Quality washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, every utensil in the kitchen you would even want, even if you want to make cakes or scones to enjoy with Cornish clotted cream! Denby crockery, Le Creuset pans, etc. The patio was an amazing sun trap with table, chairs, parasol, BBQ, and herb pots for adventurous cooks. The lounge had several comfy sofas, TV, DVD, wood burner, dvd’s and wifii.

Lots of reading material of the area, maps, leaflets, and a detailed folder that the owners have put together to ensure you get the most out of your visit.

As for the area, well that does not disappoint either. 2 min walk to the harbour. Mousehole is a quaint little picture postcard fishing village. For its size it has an amazing 3 superb restaurant’s (2 Fore Street, Old Coastguard , Cornish Range), not to mention the fish and chip shop. If you like coastal walks then Mousehole is the place but also lots to do within a short drive or a bus into Penzance. Stevensons fishmonger in Penzance was amazing for our smoked haddock for breakfast with fresh bread every day. Car can be parked in the harbour car park which is 2 min away but can be parked outside the cottage in low season. Now for the cons, well I’m afraid we have to leave this perfect place and back to reality.

This cottage is faultless. We will be back…. THANKYOU !!!

“Perfect surprise! Every detail thought of.”

It is not often the holiday let you view o line is even better than the marketing pictures but that is the case with Seahorse Cottage - we booked it because the pictures made it look so lovely - but when we arrived it was even better.

Beautifully kept with gorgeous nautical theme throughout. We must applaud the cleanliness, absolutely, perfectly clean.

Must also applaud the thoughtfulness for guests, every detail you can think of has been thought of. We could have packed less as apart from your clothes and some fresh food you don't need anything! I usually travel to self catering houses with my spice rack and cooking bits and pieces as we love to cook and I did this time along with the usuals - tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, olive oil, salt and pepper etc - but the cupboards were stocked with all of these things (not to mention a scones upon arrival!) The house even had washing tablets if you need to do a wash while away.

The other most important thing to us was how family friendly the house was. The attention to detail was very appreciated. When we arrived we thought it was going to be very difficult to watch our little 17 month old boy 100% of the time to ensure he didn't fall down the quite steep steps but under the stairs there were pressure fix stair gates that you can just put up if you need them. Not to mention a toy box full of toys, beach toys for outside, books and dvds for all ages. We brought along some books and toys for our little one but we didn't need to. There is even a buggy for you to use should you need that. (We did intend to but found it a bit big for getting around so didn't use it in the end).

The details didn't go unnoticed and made all the difference - White Company bed linen, Denby crockery, good quality cooking pans and utensils. All very appreciated!

The location of the cottage is so quiet (apart from the seagulls!) It is just a 2 min walk to the harbour and all the little tearooms. We thought Mousehole was a beautiful little village and would definitely go back again. The harbour is gorgeous and very quaint.

We put the car in the harbour car park, £15 for the week. Just a bit tricky getting in and out as it is so narrow, lots of reversing and letting people past etc. Luckily husband did all the driving!

The level of local information provided by the owners is very thorough and helpful.

Recommendations for food is certainly 2 Fore Street, it was so good, beautiful food and we took our little boy too and they were very welcoming.

Hole Foods Deli was good for breakfast, very busy.

Stevensons fishmonger in Newlyn was great, and got all of our fish each day from there. (Lovely long coastal walk if you are up for it, or 10 min drive).

Thank you to the owners of Seahorse cottage for making our stay so comfortable and homely!

“Seahorse Cottage is magical”
Reviewed 21 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Seahorse Cottage is magical. We were so happy and comfortable there. We loved the decor too; there seemed to be something new to discover at every turn. Just being in Mousehole is a delight in itself but getting around by bus as we did was also fun. Two minutes walk down Duck Street and you're at the harbour and the bus stop. How wonderful is that! We can't wait to go again.

“Great location, beautifully presented and superbly equipped”

This is everything you need for a holiday in Mousehole! Park your car and leave it for the duration of your stay. Everything is within walking distance from the house yet the location is very peaceful. The local shops may appear small but they cater for most of your needs including freshly caught crab! The beach is lovely and, at high tide, the kids enjoyed jumping into the sheltered harbour.
The house is a home from home with everything thought of and, if you are a 'foodie' who likes to cook, you should find everything you need.
Whether a summer or winter holiday - Seahorse Cottage has it all.
