You just know you are booking a wonderful holiday rental when ALL Tripadvisor feedback is 100% positive and in our case, this was so true. Our Sat Nav, coupled with excellent final directions from the owner, took us along a secluded Public Footpath to Wild Eydeer where we viewed for the first time this fabulous detached holiday cottage, set next door to the owners farmhouse. Having settled in to this idyllic plot, where everything was home from home, we enjoyed a week of peace and quiet, just a mile or two away from the bustling Falmouth town centre. Everything was clean, presentable and working, (a first for us, having experienced other rental properties with less than satisfactory standards). The accommodation was really spacious, being open plan, just perfect for us and our little Dog. The owner, Fenella, left a lovely, welcoming note, (including our pet Dog), together with scones, jam, cream and a well stocked larder of tea/coffee and an unopened pint of fresh milk. We were invited to explore the grounds to our hearts content and help ourselves to any fruit, vegetables and fresh eggs from the chicken coup in the garden. Upstairs was massive, with a comfortable double bed at one end with two sofa/beds, chest of drawers and more than sufficient wardrobe space. It was extremely light, airy and a perfect view of grazing Jersey cows outside one window. Downstairs there was plenty of seating with a large sofa, dining table, 4 chairs and a breakfast with 4 bar stools. All kitchen appliances were modern, functional with granite worktops/sink with a large LCD TV in the lounge with full Sky Box package including Movies and Sport, perfect for the odd rainy night in. We benefitted from full WiFi reception, a must in Cornwall as the cellular service there is poor at best. The surrounding grounds were stocked with flower beds, plants and bushes, a pond, mostly landscaped with the chicken coup at the far end, laying fresh eggs each day for breakfast. The shower cubicle was modern, clean with power shower that sounded like a jet engine but worked extremely well. There is no bath but that didn't bother us. All in all we had no issues whatsoever with the cottage or location, albeit the approach to and from the property is somewhat agricultural, but our 4x4 coped fine. I would book Wild Eyedeer again without hesitation and would absolutely recommend it, not only for the beautiful cottage and secluded location but for the perfect host/hostess who ensured our stay was made even better with personal touches and a huge pet friendly welcome. Thanks to Fen and family, one big cheer for Wild Eydeer!

By saying that I never wanted to leave - I think that says it all. We could just imagine our own belongings in situ and day dreamed about moving in permanently! What more can I say? Lovely location, accommodation, people, oh and of course, the dog! I can't wait to go again....

“First class.”

Just returned from Wild eyedeer! It was everything we wanted. It was perfect. The cottage was spotlessly clean with all amenities we could need. Even a full Sky sports package! The grounds that the cottage is situated on are wonderful. This is a perfect location to explore Falmouth and surrounding areas. We will definitely book this cottage again if we return to Falmouth. Worth every penny. Thank you.

Wow, the location is out of this world, in beautiful grounds which are still undergoing works but nothing that affects the stay in any way, it is interresting to watch the work been carried out.You are located a mile so from Maenporth beach in one direction and Swanpool beach in the direction of Falmouth, there is parking at both.To reach Roscarrack Vean/Wild Eyedeer there are a couple of narrow lanes to neogiate but this is not a problem, just drive carefully.
We have to mention Fisher the Irish terrier who lives in the house adjoining the property, what a lovely friendly dog, he comes in and out of the house and all he wants is to be made a fuss of, but we did buy him some doggie treats, we will miss him.
