We were a bit scruffy after a beach day so chose to sit outside - as it seemed a bit more casual than indoors - we were informed there would be a short wait by a very polite waiter - the food came quicker than expected and it was delicious - the staff were efficient and friendly and it was good value for money

We really only stopped here for drinks, but ended up with toasted teacakes and skinny fries. All of which were very good and our young Grandson enjoyed watching the sea gulls being sprayed with a water pistol to discourage them from dive bombing the people in the cafe! The sea gulls are a great problem, but sitting on the terrace with a view of the harbour was still enjoyable.

We went in for lunch and a light snack and both were great. The mussels were really good (not large but not tiny either) and the preparation was faultless. Served with sourdough, the creamy liquor, with wine and onion was delicious and really good value at £8 for a small portion (which I assure you was not small). Very good value.

I and 4 others booked to eat here one July evening. 3 of us ordered a special fish dish - we were told a few minutes after we'd ordered that the dish was unavailable despite still being on the specials board. One of us - my mother - cannot eat cow dairy or cow meat; we struggled to find something for her to eat as a replacement. We went through a lot of back and forth with the kitchen and found that multiple other things on the menu were unavailable which we were not told about. Once they came, the starters were lovely - no fault there. My scallop main came apparently chargrilled - the scallops were burnt. The other mains were good but nothing to rave about. Overall, the problems were with communication between wait staff and the kitchen; it seemed the kitchen staff were either unprepared or overwhelmed.
