Although I never stayed in the hotel I did visit the the pub and what a great refurbishment since my last visit here.
Walking in I was totally blown away by the interior,a pastel coloured paint scheme, nice tiling, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and nice features such as the vintage motorbike on display, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub,it's a cool pub.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Wednesday afternoon, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, after a quick study of the beers on offer we both opted to have Blue Moon Brewing Co, these delicious wheat beers were served in excellent condition, we got a nice table, enjoyed our beers and took in the great pub we were in.
My beer was outstandingly tasty, on a really hot day there's nothing better than enjoying a zesty refreshing wheat beer.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and although we only stayed for the one beer before we moved on as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Golden Eagle Pub is really easy to locate ,walk down Lower Bridge Street and cut onto Castle Street were you will find this hotel and pub.

Love this place. The refurb is quirky and refreshingly different to most pubs. Loved the bedroom decor... a comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. Martin was really friendly and did his utmost to make our stay a good one. The breakfast was delicious: warm croissant, pastry, fresh fruit, cereal, orange juice, coffee and toast. My partner had the full English which was beautifully cooked and presented. All in all, a great experience at the Eagle and very near to the centre of town. Thanks to Martin and his friendly staff for a great stay.

Highly recommend this place, so friendly, clean and accomodating!

We however stayed the night before Deva Tri as were racing. Had to be up at 6am so went to bed at 9.30 but the party didn't stop downstairs until past midnight. A little honesty about that on the adverts (we booked via booking.com) wouldn't go a miss as we did read reviews before booking it but we weren't aware it was a party pub.

It sounded like a lot of fun so recommend for a fun night out but only to stay if you are also going to be out late

Brilliant stay here on 19/05/18 Martin not only made us very welcome but later in the night got us into a local gig for free. Yes it's noisy at night but it's a proper pub for genuine people. The room was clean and slightly querky, not many hotel rooms come with a record player and trumpet! Breakfast was also great. Thanks everyone.
