Hotel appears to be newly refurbished throughout to a high standard.
My well lit bedroom was spread over two floors connected by a spiral staircase. Clothes storage and space to store suitcases was on the ground floor, which was somewhat tedious if in the bedroom and, say, I needed something from the ground floor. Bed too firm for my liking (but I find this in most hotels these days.) Iron took some untangling from the ironing board ! Hardly any noise heard from adjacent rooms.
Very good view from the bedroom and bathroom across the well maintained garden to the (English ? Welsh ?) countryside beyond. A spacious "wet room" style bathroom - not much screening of the shower so water tends to spray across the bathroom floor. Shower area would have benefitted from a shelf for toiletries. No bath.
Evening meal at Nelson's bistro pub excellent. Breakfast in Palm Court restaurant is also very good with plenty of choice - for a buffet style cooked breakfast probably one of the best. Coffee is from a self serve machine - even the cappuccino seemed strong tasting - would prefer coffee/tea to be brought to the table.
Plenty of helpful staff. Access to bedrooms is via various corridors and steps - navigation will hopefully be easier when permanent internal signage is installed. Hotel is easily accessed from the A483. Would certainly stay again in the future.More
