We attended this hotel for one night, to celebrate a wedding. The hotel and the hotel room itself were fine and clean. The wedding buffet was poor unfortunately. The food ran out well before all tables had visited. This may not have been the fault of the hotel though, but what small amount was left was not very nice. In saying that, we would return again but would advise anyone booking for a wedding to order the right amount of food. The breakfast the following morning was excellent.

Dear Ibanezblue
Many thanks for taking the time to write this review.
I also would like to thank you for your constructive comments; unfortunately even after advising the couple that the level of food was too low for the amount of guests invited it was decided to stick to a lower level than usual.
I am sincerely sorry if food levels were low but as an hotel the choice is made by the guest.
Still I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the hotel and its facilities and hope to welcome you back you back in a near future.

Nice room (Classic DBL) & gym & pool excellent, we had all to ourselves!! Bar, housekeeping & breakfast staff all friendly & helpful. Victoria on reception was attentive to our issues with dinner but found other reception staff we dealt with very ignorant & unhelpful. Much made of own grounds / gardens on website but difficult to access. Feel hotel in time warp of catering to reps - somewhere to eat, sleep, grab breakfast, get out. Feel missing an opportunity to get the staycationers (like us)to use grounds, sit enjoy a beer or coffee. All needed is waiter to do tray service to/ from bar. Income would be more than cost!!
First hotel we've stayed where no Sky sports in bar lounge. Seemed odd!
However, would stay here again as hotel itself nice.

Chester is a lovely city but the location of this hotel right on the outskirts of the city isn't great. Even though it's close to the motorway, it's just off a busy road & an extremely busy junction. The Bar area is OK, but the restaurant setting is a bit bland & the food was fairly standard & nothing to write home about. Room ... the 'compact' rooms are VERY small. All in all, for the price I know there are better located hotels with more character & better value for money.

Room tip: Unless you are really only after a bed, avoid the 'compact' rooms.

They say “you get what you pay for” and this is pretty much the case with this hotel.

On the outskirts of Chester - Hikeable but not necessarily walkable to the city centre

Prefabricated - the floors in the upper corridors creak and flex as you walk along. Easily heard the guests upstairs clanking around in their room

A bit tired and grubby - scratched paintwork and hairs in the bathroom sink

Pretty decent fitness centre - although split between two rooms

Stayed for a Sunday night on a coach trip, well placed for a short drive or long walk into Chester. Our room was clean and comfortable, lovely big bed ,over bath shower, free WiFi and good choice of TV channels, bit of traffic noise with windows open but the air con was brilliant which sorted that small problem.Friendly helpful staff, food was great, definitely a good place to stay.
