We stayed here recently for 3 nights.
The welcome on arrival was very good, the room was acceptable and the staff in bar friendly.
Now the down side.
The car park was very tight and getting out wasn't helped by 1 of the staff not parking properly, the paintwork in the room was adequate but the rest of the hotel looked jaded with age, there were times when we couldn't get any hot water in our room for a wash or a shower, we reported this problem and were told maintenance would look into it but nothing changed. Not very good when there's a Covid pandemic going on. Then to finish, we were led to believe the bar was open until 11pm but on returning at 10-30 on the last night of our stay we found it closed.
This hotel could be better with some decorating, new car park layout and the water system modernising.

Me and my boyfriend visited Chester for the night, our first weekend away since January because of lockdown. Great location with the centre being a 15 minute walk and free parking. We arrived a little early but was allowed to leave our car on the car park while we went exploring. The car park gets very full though and was a struggle getting out this next day as cars packed in quite tightly - i recomend reversing into the space if you can! We had a small double room which was fine for our needs. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed a few drinks in the bar on the evening. Very good choice for breakfast but i would like to suggest changing the veggie sausages to the orginal linda mccartney ones as they are much nicer than the rosemary ones. Overall a pleasant stay and we would stay again if in Chester. Thank you!

Stayed for one night whilst in the area viewing prospective purchases of a static caravan. Our first outing since lockdown and it felt very strange being out and about. The hotel had only reopened three days previously and they were still getting up to speed. Sat Nav took us straight to the door, pleasant welcome from the very nice Polish family running the hotel. I had rung ahead to check the restaurant was open and to request a lower floor room having read a couple of previous reviews. We were offered a choice of rooms and chose one on the ground floor. Clean, all precautions regarding social distancing in place, smallish room overlooking the car park. Some channels not available on TV (BBC1 for instance). Bathroom with shower. We had a drink in the bar before dinner, not everything was in stock yet and there was a reduced menu on, with the promise of a full menu the next night. We had a very nice prawn starter, mains of a curry and salmon dish, both very tasty. Breakfast the next morning was fully available and very enjoyable. I hope that the tourist industry picks up for the lovely city of Chester and this charming hotel pulls through unscathed.

Stayed for 1 night and booked the 4 poster bedroom . We found it easy to park on the small carpark and its about a 15 minute walk into Chester .We were greeted by a lovely lady on reception who allowed us to use the carpark even though we were too early to check in ,so we could walk into Chester .When we went back we were given plenty of information on the wi fi etc and again were made to feel very welcome ! Our room was lovely and we were really pleased with the size of the bathroom which included a bath not just a shower .Unfortunately as it was a Sunday the hotel restaurant was not open but we went into town so not a problem. We had a very restful night and were greeted by the lovely Elle at breakfast and were told to help ourselves to the continental breakfast first, whist waiting for our cooked breakfast. When it came we were very impressed all the ingredients were of a very high quality, it was well presented and probably one of the nicest to breakfast's we have ever been served .Should we go back to Chester we would stay at this hotel in a heartbeat so thanks to Elle and staff for a lovely stay, we will be back
