The staff are friendly and attentive. The room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet with the secondary glazing. The decor is a bit tatty as are the bathroom fittings but overall it was fine. The thing that lost them another star was the restaurant: I asked if I could just have more veg instead of the boiled potatoes the menu said my grilled fish came with. The very nice waitress went to check with the chef and came back saying the veg was already portioned up so I couldn't have more veg, he could just leave the potatoes out. This made me wonder 2 things- what sort of pre-portioning is done/how freshly is my food being prepared;- how much would have eaten into the profit margin to give me another full portion of veg v potatoes really? As it was my dinner bill came to £25 including a drink and a desert - so not extortionate at all and the food was actually very nice even in light of my scepticism.
A tip for finding the car-park is to head for the museum and it's on the other side of the road thru the black gates by a bus stop. The 1 way system is a nightmare!
