We checked in slightly earlier than 2pm but our room was ready for our 2 night stay. We were asked if we would like a bag of extra teabags/coffee/milk which was useful. I jokingly asked for a room with a comfy bed as the bed at Premier Inn we stayed at the night before was very uncomfortable! I was told that all Premier Inn beds are the same, and comfortable and that a good night’s sleep is guaranteed.
Our room was on the first floor (old fashioned key which we handed in at reception when going out). The room was fairly typical for a Premier Inn. The windows opened which was a pleasant change, no air conditioning but there was a large fan. We only had 1 hand and 1 bath towel so my husband went to reception to request more. Apparently 1 hand towel per room is standard. There were no glasses in the room or bathroom for taking tablets, only the mugs for tea/coffee. The room and bathroom were clean.
We went next door (the entrance is no more than 3 metres from the hotel entrance) to the Horse & Jockey for excellent breakfasts.
The bed was very uncomfortable again so I did not sleep well and suffered with a bad back for a few days afterwards. Sadly that has now put me off Premier Inns! You get what you pay for.More
