“Family Visit”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

Accompanied by my wife I have used this hotel on several occasions when visiting our son who was at university in Bristol and now resides there. The hotel is conveniently situated close, but not too close, to the M5 Motorway. It is in a fairly quiet location, the staff are pleasant and accommodating and the rooms are clean and tidy and the family rooms are spacious. The breakfasts are very good. We have not tried the Dinner Menu as we usually take our son and his partner exploring the different restaurants around the City Centre which is only a few miles from the hotel. Free car parking is a bonus as the hotels in the City Centre either charge or use has to be made of a public car park with associated costs and inconvenience.

Room Tip: Family rooms are very spacious, usually with a double and single bed.

Only one night but will come here on our next visit to Bristol - lovely room (No.4) comfortable bed, bathroom and shower - excellent breakfast in the morning and staff on arrival, during the evening and in the morning, first class.

Not too easy to find so we recommended they offer a street map for faxing - if you do not have Satnav Bristol is a hateful place in which to find your way around - but whatever, persevere and hunt down this place - you will not be disappointed.

The new proprietors have renovated a run-down hotel with great care and expense. In and old building the accommodation is variable: we had one of the best bedrooms; our companions had a more idiosyncratic room, but were not dissatisfied. We endorse the comments previously posted on this site.

Only stayed for 1 night whilst passing through Bristol on business and I couldn't have been more pleased with Henbury Lodge. I was very lucky to be given the bridal suite which was lovely, I requested my evening meal in my room; ribeye followed by sticky toffee pudding, the meal was excellent.
In short, a gem of a place, lovely staff, will stay again.

Room Tip: Home from home....ask for the bridal suite! ;-)
