stayed here for a week during work. it is a 4 star place quite immaculate. right from that start the owners bryan and ashley were really helpful. bryan kindly allowed me to use his garage for my scooter . both owners were so approachable and helpful which really made my stay more comfortable. the room was en suite and well presented. bed was comfortable .i usually miss breakfast so i cannot comment on that but it sure smelled nice, they have a pretty garden which i am sure is a delight over summer-very much like this place -thanks guys

I visited Bristol for the first time almost 5 weeks ago and was booked into Woodstock guesthouse for 3 nights. This is a lovely, comfortable, spotless house with a welcome and reception that was second to none!! Brian and Ashley are really wonderful, friendly hosts who run a fabulous guesthouse well worthy of its 4 stars. The bedroom was so clean and nicely decorated as was the en-suite. My room was at the back of the house and was so peaceful, completely noise free. Breakfast was superb and I really enjoyed the lovely chats too. The guesthouse is in a super location for getting in to the city centre with a bus stop just outside the front door. I was made feel so welcome here and found the whole experience so homely and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this accommodation and hope to stay there again in the future. Thank you guys for a lovely stay. Mairead from Ireland

After searching for hours on the various sites looking for hotels in the Brislington/Keynsham area, I came across trip advisor information on the Woodstock Guest house. This is a lovely, friendly and pristine guest house, well deserving of its four stars.

The room I stayed in is well equipped, spotless, comfortable and with a sparkling en suite shower room. Brian and Ashley were helpful in providing information about the area, places to eat, shop etc and bus connections (x39 as it happens). A superb breakfast was served in the morning and time to chat with the two brilliant hosts. Well done both of you. Will definitely be back whilst I have work in the area and have recommended you to the people I am working with.

Having started a new job in Bristol, I have been staying though the week at Woodstock with fabulous hosts Ashley and Brian for a few of months now. They put in a great deal of effort keeping every aspect of the property at tip top level inside and out. I've used 3 rooms to date, each one is immaculately clean with modern decor which is respectful to the period property. The breakfast is superbe, indeed you can chat as breakfast is being cooked for you in the open kitchen which is equally spotless. The garden is a sun trap, not a weed to be seen or blade of grass out of place! A bonus for me is the inclusive 30 meg internet. Car parking is on the street, and there is road noise when the windows are open, but then you are on the main road with lots of buses to the cities of Bristol and Bath. The only thing I miss is a desk or comfy chair to sit and work with my laptop.

The location is excellent for getting into the centre of the city, onto the motorway network or into the countryside and villages towards Bath. There are many bus services are stops a couple of doors up towards PDSA. If you are prepared to walk down the hill to the bus stop near ITV Studios, you can get a £1 "three stop hop" to Temple Meads, or just get a £4 all day ticket. You can also walk to Temple Meads easily in about 30 minutes, which is good for calling on at the Bocabar for a pizza and well earned a cider after work.

Within easy walking distance of Woodstock, there are several areas areas for shopping and eating. Arnos Park has a kebab shop, curry house a couple of bars, massive Sainsbury's supermarket, Burger King, M&S, JBB, McDonalds, KFC and a Showcase Cinema. Sandy Park has a more village feel, with smaller local corner shops a pub, chippy, newsagents, estate agencies, launderette & dry cleaners, a chinese and other restaurents. Then out towards Bath there are pubs and more out of town shops like Wickes and so on. Most Bath buses go via Keynsham and only cost a couple of pounds, where there's several country pubs. Near the station the food and ales at the Brassmill are excellent.

I am a regular business traveller and in my view Woodstock is a desk away from the Marriott standard.

Room Tip: Quieter at the rear, morning sun to the front of the building.

The service and the food at Woodstock were excellent, the bedroom was very clean and comfortable with a nice en-suite. Brian and Ashley are very welcoming and we felt at home straight away:) Some people may find a problem with the parking, but it did not bother us.
