Spent 1 night here last week. The place is in need of a renovation. The rooms are tired and the furniture seems 20 years old. The carpets are worn and the bathroom appearance is not great. The staff here do their best to provide a good stay but the place is just old. The outside of the building looks like it needs a giant bath. Breakfast was OK. The concierge lounge is on 2 but I couldn’t find it and there are no signs so I went to bed. My sense is there are better choices in Bristol. Marriott even has another property in town that may be nicer.

At every turn the customer service was excellent. Both check in and check out was friendly and efficient. Sarah in the concierge lounge was exceptional, lovely demeanor and very helpful! The service in the bar area was very good, too. There is a Starbucks in the hotel which is always a plus, and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants makes this hotel's location great. There are a few things that keep this from getting five stars: the rooms are a bit drab and in need of a facelift, the food in the concierge lounge was uninspiring, and the parking garage is a bit of a mess. All in all, service won the day!

Stayed for one night on business. Thought I’d leave a review because the room was so tired and dated. As normal with these types of hotels the check in area and busy communal areas are very nice, but, room had clearly not been updated in 25 years. Everything very tired and worn, especially the bathroom which was really disappointing. If I was staying for a weekend socially I’d have been complaining!
I’d like to be fair and say all staff were very good. Only ate in the bar as oppose to the restaurant but the food was pleasant.
Marriott - refurbish the rooms!!!

You quickly appreciate the cheerful and efficient staff around you. City centre hotels are a compromise. We had a good room on the seventh floor. The lift programming is less satisfactory. Well provided breakfast. The restaurant and bar are adequate; probably most guests will be heading for the wide choices nearby. Parking and traffic is a problem in Bristol. We parked immediately in the NCP and had our ticket validated at £17 per night on departure. Should have set our Satnav to get back on the M32! This hotel was good value.
