Came to the Raj with friends and had the most amazing experience. Have been here many a time and it never fails to disappoint. The food is outstanding, service is amazing and they are so attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a curry in Bristol

Went for an early meal as going to the theatre. Staff incredibly attentive and helpful good price for meal deal...and able to swop one of the mains! Couldn’t eat all of it. Onion bhajis really good. Decor showing it’s age, but who cares?

The place is overpriced and the food isn’t too great.
I was a bit disappointed with the selection of items as I had gone for spicy Indian cuisine.
The daal was bland and the chicken in some red sauce was more like a Chinese dish rather than a spicy Indian recipe .

Visited on a Friday night, booked in advance having looked at the on-line reviews and asking a local taxi driver!
Just a very dissapointing experience, on arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff then passed on to another who with a unweloming flick of his hand in the direction of our table showed us in.
The restuarant itself seemed a bit 'tired' and in need of a bit of a refresh.
The real issue came with the food itself, we both regularly eat indian food but neither of us had a starter or main course which met our expectations, the onion bhajis were dry and I think overcooked as they just fell apart when cut leaving a pile of 'crispy bits' on the plate. I ordered the chicken palak, a favourite of mine, unfortunately it was very dry with hardly any moisture or sauce, the second main was not what was expected and the chicken was not well cooked, our nann breads were over cooked and the whole meal was just dissapointing.
It was busy with a fair number of people who hadnt booked being turned away which suggests its a popular restaurant so our experience may be a one off, although the other reviews do suggest an inconsistently.
