A great place to experience something slightly different or familiar for an Indian meal.
The staff are always great (been here 4 times now) and the food never disappoints.

That's it in a nutshell - or even a Nutmeg.
Seriously, I am a 'value for moeny' man and never mind paying over the odds for good food, good service or good atmosphere. this restaurant has all three plus a well thought out menu (I love the put down to a recent ognorant customer). Every dish we taste is exceptionally good. Expensive - possibly but that is where VFM comes it. This is not just a corner of the street 'curry house' - this is a wonderful Indian experience.

On the downside is we left feeling a little cheated by the drinks prices. As I have said, value for money is important so to be charged £19 for the Workshorse Chenin blanc that costs £6 in the supermarket nearby is a little cheeky. £4.60 (or is it now £5.30?) for a pint of draft Kingfisher ... and you are charged £2.95 for the half pint which is 28% over the cost of a half. Unacceptable markup methinks.

In summary - great food, wonderful staff (including Ellie who has the memory to take all orders correctly without writing anything down) but consider drinking tap water of you don't want to feel ripped off.

I’ve been in bristol 5 years, and my only regret is not discovering this little beauty earlier!!!! I’ve been 4 times in the last few months as it is just so so blaaaddy fantastic!!

The starters and sensational, the mains - just delicious.

If you want to do 1 good thing this week, treat yo self to some onion barges and the lamb shank curry. You’ll be in paradise.

Please ignore the moronic 1/5 star cretins who have the mordacity to make such a ridicules review of this humble and tasty establishment.

Can’t wait to be back again!!!!

Xxxx

Asked for a lamb madras, not a beef one.
The chief was unwilling.
‘It wouldn’t taste right’ was the waitress reply.
We’ll never know will we.
Avoid.

What a joy this place is. A very warm welcome and Great food. My guests were regulars in London’s Brick lane and said this compared well with the best there. I agreed.
