My husband and I got married on 31.12.2019, with the wedding reception at East Lodge Country House Hotel.

We just wanted to say thank you all so so much for making our wedding one of the best days of our lives.

You truly were so efficient. The food, the rooms and the service was exceptional. The schedule was tight as were trying to fit a lot in, in one day. The East Lodge Team ensured everything went smoothly and to plan. We had so many compliments regarding your attentiveness and professionalism, so we are forever grateful.

We came to East Lodge recently to have Afternoon Tea as a treat for my wife's birthday.
The ambience was perfect and the staff gave a warm and friendly welcome.
Not forgetting the important part, the afternoon tea itself, fabulous food and perfectly presented along with a wide range of loose leaf teas.
A most delightful afternoon and a big thanks to all the staff of East Lodge.

I got a free stay here when I purchased an engagement ring for my now fiancée. We were upgraded at no cost to the four poster room and everything was fabulous.

The room was large and comfortable with just perfect views over the gardens and hills. We had a few drinks in the relaxing bar area and the breakfast the following morning was wonderful.

We both wanted to say how nice Christian aka Skippy was. Nothing was too much trouble and he was such a friendly guy to talk to. We spoke about his family back in Oz and his plans for the future. He was very enthusiastic about our engagement too which all added to the buzz of the day.

We will give some serious thought to having our wedding reception here that's for sure!

Room tip: Rooms with garden views are brilliant

We enjoyed Sunday lunch here with every silver service attention to detail you expect, the surroundings are excellent and the staff friendly and helpful, the conservatory a great addition to the formal seating.

Our regular dining party of four, me, my wife, our daughter and her partner, visit East Lodge and eat at the Chef's Table most Christmases. We keep going back because the food and drink combinations are excellent, the rooms comfortable and the setting delightful. This year we enjoyed canapes with champagne, crab cakes with Chablis, Goat's Cheese with NZ Sauvignon Blanc, Stone Bass unusually (but ideally) paired with Romanian Pinto Noir, Lamb Rump with Chateau Musar from Lebanon, a Gin & Tonic float finishing with Chocolate Orange delice accompanied by Royal Tokaji from Hungary. We ate every morsel and we were all too full to take on the cheese!! Rest assured, we'll be back!!

Room tip: Ground floor accessible room available
