We really enjoyed our stay here, we were in a 1 bedroom lake view apartment that had a balcony looking over Lake Crackenback. The apartment was double story so maybe not so good for people with mobility issues. It had a loft style bedroom with 2 single beds at the top of the stairs then a bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite, there was also another bathroom downstairs. Full size kitchen with most appliances and a laundry with washer and dryer. Comfy modern furniture and the bed was excellent.

The resort is gorgeous, so quiet with lots of ammenities either free or charged. We canoed the lake, walked to the Thredbo river to fish and watched as lots were mountain biking - there is just so much to do. Breakfast at Cuisine was included, its buffet style with lots of options, we asked for our eggs poached and that was not a problem. They have a Nespresso machine or you can purchase barista made coffee. We had dinner one night at Alpine Larder, great service and the food was excellent although my partner felt that his swordfish meal could have been larger. Dinner on our last night was at Cuisine - prices were higher here but totally worth it, l had the butchers cut - superb.

The resort is close to Thredbo where you can walk Mount Kosiosko (about 14 Km's round trip), Jindabyne village is a 15 minute drive where there is a supermarket, restaurants and other shops.

We will return again perhaps in spring, we loved our stay here.

Such a great place to escape and do nothing, or lots. The accomodation in a chalet over the water was excellent. It had a full kitchen which will allow you to make your own breakfast if you want. Great air conditioning as we were there in the warmer months. Simple drive to Thredbo and a must do walk up Mount Kosciuszko. There was even a platypus that swam each morning outside our balcony!

Staying for a week at the resort,is one of the best things I have done for a while.
All amenities such as Disc Golf, Golf,Tennis,Canoeing, Archery, and each are all inclusive in the cost.
We stayed in a newly renovated lake side one bedroom apartment, which was great.
The area itself sits between two mountain ranges with a small lake in the middle.
It's a great resort for the whole family.

We have stayed here several times and really like the beautiful natural surroundings. From virtually everywhere you can see views of the mountains, the lake or the bush, or all of those at once! There's a great range of free activities (archery, canoeing, trampolines etc) and paid activities (the segway tour is our favourite). The biggest attraction would be the trails for walking and mountain biking. There’s onsite mountain bike hire or bring your own. You can be walking or cycling in the bush literally five minutes after walking out your front door.

There are also paved roads all around the resort if you have young kids and just want to take them out on their road bikes or scooters, but note cars will be using these roads as well.

The accommodation is all comfortable self-contained apartments with full kitchens, laundry facilities, open fireplaces and so on. We were happy with our apartment; they are all slightly different. Most (all?) have views of some sort, either the lake or the mountains. The "lakeview" apartments are the closest to the restaurant and activity areas. The "mountainview" chalets are usually larger, quieter and better for spotting wildlife from your front door but are also a much longer walk from everything. Still not far though; this is one place you really can leave your car parked all day and do everything on foot or bike.

There is lots of wildlife. Bring a long-beam torch for night spotting. Our first night out we saw several rabbits, a wombat, kangaroos, deer (escapees from captivity) and some sort of water mammal. Opinion is still divided in our family as to whether we saw a water rat or a platypus; my daughter is positive she saw a duckbill! There is lots of birdlife too, especially water birds on the lake.

There are two restaurants onsite. Cascades Restaurant does a buffet breakfast (generally included in your room rate) and dinner. The Alpine Larder café does brunch, lunch, dinner and coffee all day, as well as takeaway pizza. However, wait times can be long when the resort is busy. Over Easter we were told one day there was a wait time for coffee of 25 minutes (this was around 11am) and on another occasion we overheard a couple being told that if they wanted to order takeaway that night, they would be best off ordering around 5pm as the wait times were expected to blow out to two hours later in the night. Thinking about your meals before you go is essential. The restaurants do get booked out at busy times (we were there over Easter), so make bookings before you leave home. You can prepare meals in your room as long as you bring supplies from home, or from the Woolworths supermarket in Jindabyne 15 minutes away. There is a small convenience shop onsite selling milk, snacks and a few other basics but it doesn’t sell items for you to cook an entire meal – no raw meat, for instance. It also sells alcohol, but not on Good Friday! (NSW liquor licensing laws).

Room Tip: Plan meals before you arrive; either bring food with you or make restaurant bookings beforehand.

Last minute get away /mini honeymoon mid week. We were impressed with the facilities great gym, frisbee golf, pitch and put golf, archery, canoeing. Just to note you can hire mountain bikes and there are good trails but contrary to the website they aren't free to hire but cheap enough.

This is a stunning place for a romantic get away. Breakfast provide was fantastic. They can cater for gluten free.
