“Lunch at the Lovin Oven II”
Review of Lovin' Oven II

Lovin' Oven II
Price range: US$1 - US$16
Cuisines: Italian, Pizza
Description: Lovin' Oven is a family owned and operated restaurant catering to the locals of the island. Clean, fresh, and simple is the key to our "made from scratch" breads, desserts, pizza dough, sauce, and even the salad dressings. Breakfasts, daily soup, and specials for lunch and dinner are a big hit. We cut fresh potatoes for fries to compliment burgers or sandwiches on our savory dill bread. Jim Moats invented the pizzas back in the 70's and we strive to keep him proud of all his creations and flavor combinations. Our liquor license is from 11 am to well after closing. Custom made to order takes more time than fast food outlets, so please be patient or better yet, pre-order hours ahead of when you want to pick it up. We also have delivery anywhere south of Lakberg Road for $5. Keeping the prices low has it's draw backs for things like esthetic improvements, and we apologize for it is a work in progress. Thanks to local artisans we have something on the walls! Every Summer we try to be open 7 days a week if there's enough staff and we are hopeful again this year. Hope you can give our unique home-style food a try.

I have been eating lunch here occasionally since 2000 and it's a typical down-to-earth Canadian small-town restaurant as you can find in every one of Canada's many thousands of small towns. I had the lunch special which was egg salad sandwich and chicken soup. The chicken soup was superb, lots of large chunks of breast-meat chicken in it, and fresh vegetables galore. The egg salad was fresh, plentiful, and tasty in wholesome multi-grain vegetable-bread baked on the premises. Cost was $12.50. Service was fast, friendly, and the place was not crowded but, as usual, was about half-full. Nice one Lovin Oven.

Stopped here to get take-out pizza with my kids. Stood in line for 15 minutes without any movement in the line or any acknowledgement. Server was rude and snippy with a customer after she made a mistake with their order, which everybody in the restaurant witnessed. Turned and walked out within a single glance from the server so cannot give a review on the food, only the terrible service.

Just ordered a veggie pizza and pepperoni pizza, we were greeted with a super friendly atmosphere, and when we arrived home realized we hit jackpot of pizzas. We just moved here and we were pizza people from Vancouver, so we have been around the block with pizzas and know what we are talking about. This is by far one of the best, very deserving of the 5 star rating and clearly made with love.

This trip I’m traveling with a person who requires gluten free options for food. Lovin’ Oven II delivered. We tried the Mediterranean and added chicken and it was lovely. GF was only available in medium size but there was plenty for the two of us to share.

An eclectic atmosphere that’s well located near the Saturday summer markets, LO II has artwork for sales in the walls and friendly staff

Maybe best in the universe? I can't imagine how it could be any better! One bite and we both said OMG! And the staff is great too. If you like pizza, don't miss this place!
