We went for a cosy lunch when the weather was poor - what a great idea! The pub was pretty full but we weren't squashed. The food is good pub food & well worth visiting the Lugger Inn for. Great food, great pub, great atmosphere!

We went for Sunday lunch today, as we often had done previously. The food was under or over-cooked and largely cold. Very disappointing; we will wait and read the reviews before we go back again, as we hadn't realised the management had changed. The food needs to be improved to former standards and dogs allowed downstairs only, as there is not enough room to manoevre around them on the top deck!

We have visited before and the food was excellent. However this time was very disappointing. We ate on a Wednesday evening, no sign of the new management, and the pub was almost empty. My steak and mushroom pie looked and smelled vaguely of school dinners and the mash contained hard lumps. The fish and chips was ok but the food was overpriced for the quality. Such a shame as our visits to The Lugger were always a highlight of our trips to Polruan.

Went for lunch yesterday, had a warm welcome from the landlord, the food was excellent and we didn't have to wait long. It was very busy, and clean, only hitch was the card machine which we understood to be an ongoing issue since they took over only three weeks ago, but a notice on the bar informed people and it wasn't a problem.
To the negative posts I suggest you go back and give them a chance, all new take overs have hiccups, the weather has been so mild a fire was not needed, we will definitely be returning.

10 of us went for lunch today, the pub was already busy, the service at the bar was swift, our food appeared in good time,it was good quality and plenty of it.the landlord and landlady(who came out of the kitchen for a chat)were friendly.and for the person who wrote on here that she had a black eye, yes, she does, its an ongoing medical condition.would be go back, yes,i bet its a cosy place in winter. downside, one or two in our party got caught out by the card machine being down, but there is a large notice on the bar. think st Austell brewery should update its website on this pub, remind everybody that there are new landlords. good luck team Lugger
