We were looking forward to eating here from the reviews and while it was very nice there were a couple of little niggles that let it down. There was only vegetarian main on the menu, though 3 or 4 starters to pick from – surely there should be 2 options to allow for a choice? Also we were put right in the middle of the restaurant, while there were empty tables nearer the edge, which meant the staff struggled to get past me (I'm not that big!) to serve the two tables behind and I felt a bit in the way. The food was very nice though. We both had the aranchini for starter. I had the tagine and my other half had the shin of beef. There was way too much veg for two people! My partner had the chocolate fondant and I had the local ice creams, which came with lots of chocolate “straws” on the bottom of the dish, both of which were lovely.

Dear Emma,
We always very much appreciate any constructive criticism in order for us to potentially improve on the customer experience, which is so important to us. so first of all may we thank you for all your kind comments that you have given us.
Now, we do cater for vegans and vegetarians on our menu, and we are always happy that any of the vegetarian starters on the main menu can be also prepared as a main course. So I do hope that was explained to you when dining with us. Whilst we always offer one vegetarian meal on the main menu, we do quite often offer a further vegetarian main on the specials board.
Having discussed your review with our chefs, we are now going to always implement a second vegetarian main option on the specials board, as well as being provided with the option of turning any of the vegetarian starter choices into a main. So thank you for your feedback which as a result will improve our service to our vegetarian diners.
Now onto the restaurant layout. May we reassure you that we never just put people anywhere in the restaurant, all diners are pre allocated tables, dependant on how many numbers are in the party. So please know that you wouldn't have been just put in the middle of the restaurant as a lucky dip, but the other tables would have been allocated already for diners of larger parties arriving later than you.
Having said that, I know that the Middle tables in the restaurant can at times be a little tricky to navigate which is mainly dependant on the angles at which some diners move their chairs. With this in mind, we have reorganised all our tables, reshuffling some of the larger & smaller tables for two, So once again, thank you for your constructive comments which should greatly improve that niggle (which was a niggle for me too)
Now onto the vegetable side dishes. We loathe waste, so what we implemented last year was a policy of informing all our customers that the side dishes of fresh vegetables and buttered new potatoes are complimentary and refillable on request. We have done this in order to try and gauge a reasonable portion of sides for veg & potatoes that we think would suffice for our customers. It's not often we get this wrong, because all our diners know that all they need do is ask for a refill, so please know that if you felt you had been given to much in your side dishes that evening, that this is a rare occurrence.
We are very appreciative of your very kind review. We will always thrive on great constructive criticism such as yours, which we listen to as a team, in order to build on the service that we provide for our customers, we will never become complacent...
So on behalf of our team thank you.
Kindest wishes
Hugh, Gill & The Team

One of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had(and we eat out frequently!).The menu was exciting, including traditional roasts but with many 'twists' and additions. The main course was piping hot, elegantly presented, with a huge selection of fresh vegetables,
The desserts were imaginative and totally delicious.
I had a starter of warm goats cheese(locally produced)with marinated figs( not usually my choice!) and rocket leaves.Wow!It was stunning.Service was excellent as were the staff.
I've been told that this restaurant has been very popular locally and had a great reputation for many years but has recently acquired new owners. All can say is CONGRATULATIONS.
I cannot fault anything about my visit and cannot wait to return for an evening meal in the near future,Highly recomended!

Have visited The Daffodil several times over the past few years and always been happy with the food. However called for lunch today with the dog and sat outside on the decking and were highly impressed with the food and service. New owners have not disappointed.
Two courses for £14 (lunch) and £16 (dinner) - menu was outstanding and the quality was second to none.
Highly recommend.

Visited the Daffodil last week with family who were down visiting and we were all far from being disappointed following our evening visit. Food was to a very high standard with a good selection of meals to chose from. Service was second to none as Is the case every time we have visited the Daffodil.

This establishment was recommended and did not disappoint!

The new owners have quickly adapted to their new roles and provide a first class dining experience it this lovely part of west Wales.
Food and presentation are top notch, staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant Manager(?) especially so.Lovely patio for outside dining in the summer.

We have already booked our return visit at the end of May. No need to say more!
