Lake Peipsi is the 4th biggest lake in Europe between Russia and Estonia. It has nice sandy beaches and one can fish. What is unique there are so-called onion villages where old orthodox Russians grow onions. Villages Varnja,Kolkja,Kasenpää form a lõng colourful street with a special character absolutely different from all the ohter villages in Estonia. You can dine in a fish restaurant,Kivi (stone) kõrts(inn), Sepikoja trahter (smithy tavern). There are open houses like a muuseum, old churches and graveyards. In Sept. there are onion markets. Visit also Voronja Gallery, Kostja sibulatalu (onion house).
