We've stayed in Mont Tremblant pedestrian village many times in both summer and winter. This is still our favorite place to stay. Yes, the rooms do need a make over but we're never in the room that much so it's not a major issue. This place has the best location hands down.
We love being at the top of the village, makes getting around much easier. The "people mover" (Le Cabriolet) at the base of the village can take you up to the top (and back down) but there is often a line at the bottom. Also, staying at Sommet puts you at the base of most activities incl the gondola, luge, and in the winter, the ski school. One of the other things we like about Sommet is the comfy beds and the fact that there is little to no noise from other rooms. Also, some of the other hotels/condos that are in mid-village and can get noisy from being next to, or above, restaurants or bars.
Room tip - if you want more quiet, get a room that does not face the village. Most rooms will have decent views. More
