A couple gals seeking refuge from the cold and snow in Alberta for a week; loved our stay at QBH. Location made touring to Coombs, Tofino, Parksville, Nanaimo, and Comox all easy day trips. The Brant suite is well stocked and comfy, the fireplace is a lovely feature for those frosty fall/ winter evenings. Want to be on the beach? You have it here Beautiful sun rises and sunsets, birds and sea lions ... Close to good restaurants, walk to the Shady Rest, Fish Tales etc,

We've had a standing reservation for our annual holiday here for years. From the first moment sitting on the spacious deck of the upper suite, to the last, it is an oasis of rejuvenation. Our two small kids have adventure after adventure frolicking on the broad beach, particularly at low tide. The recent renos to the bathrooms only improve what was already a very special place for our family. Everything you need for a temporary home away from home.

Myself, Hubby and our kid's and small chihuahua came for some much needed time off. we rented Eagleview suite is on the upper level of the Villas, with a wall of French doors opening onto the spacious balcony. The furnishings are a little dated but its a very clean well stocked place. The beach is right there! a bit rocky at first then awesome! Was worried when we pulled up as the back side does not reflect how nice the front area is. Its off a hwy but you here zero and just waves. The beach is rocky but mid day a nice little sandbar opens up right in front where my hubby enjoyed his chair and beer cooler ;) The dog had a blast and if there was ever any previous pets in that villa you would never know it as its super clean. LOVE the massive tub! The bbq there is newer and theres a lot of sandcastle stuff the kids used already there. Make sure you go to the town with the goats on the roof! very Twin Peaks. We will definately come back!

Room Tip: If you have a dog the eagleview villa is great as its upstairs and cant go anywhere you dont want him too! has the run of the deck and your open french doors :)

First time we stayed at Qualicum Beach House, recommended by some old friends. We stayed 2 nights and wished it could have been more. The room was clean and offered a great view of the water. The beach was close by for a nice stroll or a long excursion. Lots to do in the area for outdoor lovers.

Ann Lindsay, the owner, was very nice and responded quickly to emails. No problem with proper charges to our credit card. Our unit was very clean and laundry detergent was provided. I tried to use the vacuum cleaner, but it wasn't very effective. The units are comfortably furnished and the views were great. We even spotted a seal a couple of times. Low tide created interesting landscapes, with large sand bar areas. I say sand bar, but the beach was very rocky and water footwear is highly recommended. The water is very cold here, but just 10 miles down into Parksville, the water is much warmer (not to say warm, just warmer). Parksville has pepply, rockly beach initially, but after about 10 feet or so, it's a totally sandy bottom. The kitchen had a small stove and oven; the baking sheet provided didn't fit in the oven, but we'd bought foil pans, so that worked out fine. There was salt as well as pepper, and coffee filters. I didn't see a complete set of measuring cups and spoons and prep knives weren't available, so don't plan on chopping and slicing much. We heard upstairs tenants walking, but everyone was respectful of the posted quiet hours. All in all, I thought everything was fine. The views of the water from the living room was very relaxing. The water is, indeed, right there. The windows at the front of the one and two-bedroom units run the entire width of the units, so the views are commanding. There are islands across the way with mountains and in the morning the clouds nestle amongst the mountains for some beautiful scenery. The Internet cut out unexpectedly every now and then, but it came back up. Parking for the efficiency is tricky and low slung cars will scrape emerging from the driveway. The town of Qualicum had stores that weren't chain stores, so that was a nice change. Englishman River Falls is quite close, as is Cathedral Grove and The Old Country World Market (or something like that) that has goats on its roof during spring through fall. Parksville has two miniature golf courses that were fun. There are private residences on either side of this beach house and all have narrow lots.
