We visited Leonidio and stayed five nights at Archontiko Hatzipanayioti. The location was perfect for us as a family, with only a short drive to the beach and situated near shops and cafes , it was a great base to explore the area. Set amongst the magnificent backdrop of red rock cliffs.
The hotel itself is charming and the decor is reflective of a time gone by, but also modern. The courtyard and rooftop terrace has beautifully patterned cobblestones.
Breakfast is served on the upper floor and the staff are very accommodating and will make chocolate milkshakes for the kids on request. The food is authentic Greek fare and beautifully prepared. The staff and very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They may even iron your shirt if you are going out for a special night. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

Staff were amazing but their drinks list on the beautiful roof terrace were awful!!!

We got back to the hotel at 10pm having been told drinks would be served until 11pm and were told by the same person - he's just turned the coffee machine off!!! WHAT?

No simple ingredients like Kahlua or Tia Maria. REALLY poor.

Then at breakfast we were given water from the tap!!! My girlfriend had a stomach bug for the rest of the day.

A fabulous hotel in a beautiful setting - let down by such simple things.

Beautiful artistic courtyard with the sweet fragrance of jasmine, a delightful setting to enjoy the 'mountain tea' a local speciality provided by the hotel. Very comfortable and pleasant rooms. The breakfasts are superb! Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. A delightful place to stay in the stunning setting of Leonidio. We are already planning our return visit!

Centrally situated in the village and only 4K from our wedding venue in Plaka. If you are a climber there are lots of routes within a stones throw from the hotel.
The local shops stock everything you would need on a holiday break.
There are three cash machines and a garage for fuel and even a phone shop in case you need an accessory.
There are lots to do nearby and excellent restaurants within a short walking distance.
The Hotel Manager speaks excellent English and his very friendly and helpful staff are also well versed.
This elevated stone hotel is situated on the main street through Leonidio. It is a substantial building built on several levels with a rooftop seating area and a rock backdrop view to die for.
All the rooms are individually designed and situated at different levels with spacious and well furnished Greek furnishings. The superior rooms have four poster beds and internal shutters to the windows.
The breakfast dining area is situated on the upper level with splendid panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. The breakfast is varied and substantial and you can order off the menu should there be nothing to your tastes. the helpful staff will bend over backwards to accommodate your wishes.
Leonidio itself is the municipality HQ for the region and is a busy and bustling town with very narrow streets.
This hotel comes highly rated for it's position, the welcoming nature of all the staff, the bedroom and bathroom and the "go the extra mile" attitude to service.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room overlooking the town if possible.
