At the end of the meal, you will be bǎole. A simple yet delicious meal, we tried the Six Person Feast and enjoyed it all. Started with dumplings and fried butterflied prawns that were crunchy and great in the dips. Some popcorn chicken, lychee chicken, garlic broccoli and braised beef all had different flavours but equally good. Fried rice, steamed rice and noodles rounded out the meal. We enjoyed the meal and it was a little better than the average Chinese food but no Dinesty(see my other review). The meal ended with deep fried sesame balls with sweet bean filling. We left there bǎole!

We recently stayed in Campbell River for a few nights and rather than cook a meal we opted to get Chinese food. Being from Parksville we had no idea of which Chinese food restaurants were worth ordering from. We relied on the reviews on trip advisor and then based on those chose Beijing house restaurant.
It just proves that even if the masses think something is worthwhile it is not necessarily so for the individual.
We had the lychee chicken dish and also a vegetable dish and quite honestly were both flavorless. The chicken dish had some type of generic red sauce poured over it which would have been sufficient if said sauce had any type of spice or flavour added. The veggie dish was equally as boring and if you looked in the dictionary under the word bland you might see a picture of our meal. It wasn’t about the money but At close to $30 it was very poor value.
Next time we will be patient and do what we normally do when we want Chinese food we go to Quality Foods in Parksville or Qualicum Beach and for about $15 we get a dish that adequately feeds the two of us and is very delicious

My husband and I went to the Beijing House on our way towards Courtenay because of Trip Advisor reviews. Don't get fooled by the exterior appearance, it does look a bit dodgy. We absolutely loved this place!
Very authentic (we have been to China several times) food, great value for money and amazing service. As a starter we chose the dim sum combo (freshly steamed) , followed by braised garlic eggplant and green beans with pork. Dessert was sticky rice dim sum. The bill came to 45 dollars, great for Canada.
All in all, highly recommend this hidden gem!

We have been impressed with the food since they first opened and have been coming back for years. We held our wedding reception here, my 65th Birthday Party, as well as numerous other events. Everyone has raved about the food, even the really fussy eaters! A true dining experience.
Today myself and my husband went for their Monday Buffet Lunch. Absolutely delicious! The service is always great and the restaurant is clean and inviting. Eric (the chef extraordinaire) and his wife Cherry are truly nice people and very welcoming to the guests.

All your favourite chinese dishes that can't be found in typical canadian-chinese restaurants are here! Amazingly accommodating staff and food that matches. It is best to go with larger groups so you can get a bigger variety of food. Just ask the staff if you're not sure what's good to order. I would highly recommend ordering the duck, onion pancakes, and the fried eggplant dishes.
