We enjoyed a lovely afternoon meal on the deck of Cafe Allium, and had the rare experience of a great menu with fresh and healthy ingredients. The only ‘complaint’ was that the dishes were too small for the portions- everyone struggled to eat the side salads in the too small bowls. They looked great, tasted good, but weren’t very practical.

While the menu is limited, the choices offer a range of items. Meals are fresh and beautifully presented.

Located in Pynelogs Art Gallery beside Kinsmen beach in Invermere. Gorgeous setting with indoor and outdoor dinning. Patio is well covered and hosts 7-8 tables outdoors.
The resto is open for lunch and dinner until 9pm ( kitchen closes at 8:30pm).
The menu highlights seasonal local and organic food. There seemed to be plenty of vegetarian options and several fish dishes. We were disappointed the menu on their website was not updated to what was offered at location (close but not quite).
I am of 2 minds on our experience the atmosphere, food quality and presentation are exceptional, cocktails best we had in the area. BUT and big but their level of service, inability to get all meals out in a timely fashion and general execution was greatly lacking.
Every table ariund us on our visit had at least one meal of a group come out way after the rest in in one case as rest of table finished. We waited almost 1 hour for 2 ( no cook : salad roll and bruscetta) appetizers to come out while a table who ordered after us was feed first (partially).
Waiter seemed inexperienced and we had to flag him down repeatedly to re-order drinks, and when we did didnt think to see if everyone at table needed a refill.
We left after our appies as it was just too frustrating, bill was wrong as drinks price was higher than menu but server did amend.
I am not sure if menu too large for kitchen size or kitchen short staffed but food should never take this long and resto wasnt even half full. They need front house manager on floor training servers in maximizing theirs trips back and forth and overall table service.
Because of high food quality, beautiful presentation and stunning view I would give them another chance in hopes it was an off night.

We had lunch on the deck, overlooking the beach. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Some really interesting drinks and dishes, all of which were really healthy. Beet root burger, pho soup, mussels were all excellent. We could not have passed a nicer, more relaxing hour

Had the beetroot burger on our visit last weekend. Can honestly say it changed my life (and I don’t normally choose the “veggie” option). Hubby had roast turkey sandwich and daughter had hippy dippy salad...both excellent too!! Draft local beer and yummy cocktail rounded out our meal. So good, I am planning a trip to the Invermere Saturday market again today...JUST so I can go back and have that beetroot burger again!
