We live in North Vancouver which is an hour from Mission so this was a small pilgrimage for us. My daughter needs to make a Victoria Sponge Cake as a wedding cake for a friend. She is a terrific baker but hadn't actually tasted one before and the English Tarts were the only place we could find in the Lower Mainland that made one. We phoned ahead a day before and they promised to have one on offer. Mission is a cool little town with a lovely main street. We stayed for lunch and had an egg salad sandwich, pea leak and potato soup and a quiche. And of course we had the sponge cake. They were all wonderful. (Did I mention the home made bread?) After one of the proprietors took ten minutes to talk sponge cake with us. It was a touch of welcome that made the hospitality as good as the food. We often look for a place to visit when friends visit us and we will be returning here.

If you are looking for a nice cup of tea and some "home cooking", well here's the place to stop at! Located right in the heart of downtown Mission, about halfway down, is this small tea shop. Mostly sandwiches and baking, with a hot cup of tea, and nice British accents. The food is really tasty, worth a stop for sure! The ladies are awesome!

The staff is friendly. The prices are pricey. The flavours are okay. The atmosphere is splendid. I will go there again with company when atmosphere is a priority over taste and price.

These are the funniest and most charming ladies you'll ever meet. Everything is hand made and they have the best quiche in town. Great atmosphere too.

This little spot has great fresh made to order sandwiches and soup, served up with great hospitality and smiles!
They also offer an assortment of teas and pastries if you are just looking for an afternoon break.
The atmosphere is welcoming, with lots of old furniture and old English decor. It's a nice touch to have everything served up on real China and cutlery.
Prices are comparable to fast food, but much better for you and way tastier!
A definite must try!
