We were looking for a place to stay in Midland or Penetang as we were going to attend a wedding. All the area hotels where the rest of our family was staying were booked up but the Beacon Shore happened to have a room available if we booked for 2 nights ( I use the term "room" loosely as it was actually a whole downstairs suite, complete with king bed, fireplace, sitting area, and pool table!) . We were stressed when we arrived from the city, but staying here turned out to be just what the doctor ordered. It was perfect. The hosts have a huge, beautiful, serene and private property with several acres. Breakfast was delicious. We ate outside on the patio on our last morning while gazing out at Georgian Bay and listening to the birds. We were so relaxed that we did not want to leave. Our hosts were friendly, gracious, knowledgeable, and no detail was overlooked. Oh, and did I mention the waterfront? You have to hike down a bit of a steep incline to get there, but when you do, you have access to a long private dock complete with Muskoka chairs. We went swimming right from the dock using the sturdy swim ladder. There is also a cabin directly on the waterfront that I was told can be used when shelter is required. It was difficult to leave but we were well-rested and very satisfied with our experience.

We stayed one night. Let me start with our hosts- Jacquie and Bob- They personally take care of guests and not to forget delicious breakfast in the morning.

It has a great location - very nice view of lake, private beach and dock and acres of land.

Must stay place if you are in Midland.

We recently returned from Beacon Shore following a delightful week that marked our seventh consecutive summer visit there. With each visit, we discover something new to us in the area (the nearby Wye Marsh conservancy nature walk) while the quality of the lodging and breakfasts remain consistently excellent.
Jacquie and Bob are superb hosts and no detail is too small in ensuring guests from around the world feel welcome - while keeping them coming back.
Whatever your choice of accommodation (we prefer the King Suite) you can be assured that a spotless and tastefully decorated space awaits.
The breakfasts are superb and beautifully served each morning. You have a choice of seating times to suit your daily schedule.
Jacquie Black is an award-winning photographer and greeting card maker. Her work is available for purchase and is on display in the dining area. A wide selection of Georgian Bay wildlife, scenery and animals are featured on each of these cards.

Room Tip: We suggest you visit the website to view the rooms and suites. Each is immaculate.

Our stay at Beacon Shore B&B was wonderful. Jacquie and Bob are excellent hosts that ensure your ever need is attended. Jacquie is an accomplished photographer, which easily explain why the accommodations and grounds are picture perfect. The Georgian Bay Suite is large enough to include a separate sitting area with both couch and table for two! The view outside the window to the bay is breathtaking and we could not wait to spend some quiet time on the private dock. Jacquie is an excellent chief! The food is fresh, made to order and allows dietary adjustments. The bread for the french toast is homemade! YUM! We are hard pressed to pick our favorite dish. It is a quick car ride to Midland and Penetanguishene which offers many beaches, boat cruises, walking tours and pubs if you need a little excitement. This was the first time we have stayed at a B&B and I am confident the Beacon Shore B&B has set the bar very high. High praise for the entire experience and the fabulous hosts.

Room Tip: Georgian Bay Suite is very large plus a 2 person soaker tub, 2 person shower and 2 sinks. So much space!

My wife and I had a fantastic time staying for 3 nights at Jacqui and Bob's B&B on the shores of Georgian Bay. The breakfast starts off with a plate of fresh fruit, and is then followed by a delicious main dish made from scratch by Jacqui.

Jacqui and Bob provide good suggestions for local restaurants based on their customers' comments. They also have a book listing the attractions nearby which we found useful.

Their home is spacious and the grounds have a beautiful garden along with a view of Georgian Bay.

We highly recommend their B&B.
