This cute BnB is in a quiet, residential part of Canmore on the east side of the Trans-Canada Highway 1. Some may find that inconvenient for the activities in the Canmore Town Centre (which is still within walking distance), but for my spouse and I looking to get away from the rat race, it was perfect. The property is immaculately maintained and the room downstairs is very quiet and well equipped. You have access to a fridge, full bathroom, living area and a quaint outdoor seating area in the garden. There are no cooking facilities, but one wouldn't expect that with a BnB. Continental breakfast is provided. The owner is on-site and extremely accommodating.
The best part of our experience here was Marie's enormous experience with the surrounding outdoors, especially the hiking trails. We went to the Banff area solely for this purpose with some trails in mind, but the owner really spent time with us and gave us all great suggestions and advice. She even loaned us bear spray!
Quiet and quaint
Owner's attention and expertise
Quality restaurants nearby (we're foodies, so Savory and Wit Bar was our favorite, but Iron Goat and Devil's Table were very good, too.)
10 minute drive to Banff (our advice: stay in Canmore and drive to Banff. Still crowded, but extremely less so)
Good value in what can be an expensive place to vacation
None, really, except that this place may not be for everyone. If you are looking for amenities like a hot tub, shopping outside your front door, and a "luxury" BnB, this may not be it, but the typical BnB-goer will find this within expectations.
