“Tall people with children not welcome”
Reviewed 17 September 2011

- Called this morning to make a reservation. It took three tries to get someone to answer the phone. When I requested a King bed for 2 adults and 1 child, I was told children weren't allowed on the King floor. Being tall, king-sized beds are requirement for a good night's rest.
We'll never stay at this hotel.

We booked here at the last minute and were glad we did. It is only a few miles out of Banff. We had a lovely room with a balcony looking out to the mountains. The beds were comfortable and everything seemed newly decorated. The pool is large and indoors. It appears to be a popular location for families. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is free as is wifi. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends who want to avoid staying in Banff which is really crowded.

Our one night stay in August/2011:
Great location with amazing view of mountains (but where isn't it a great view of mountains in Canmore?). Tim Horton's/Wendy's right next door, 5-10 minutes from the trendy downtown shops & cafes.
The hotel seems older but is nicely maintained & clean. Largish pool with a fast waterslide. This waterslide seems dangerous as the landing is directly into the shallow end, witnessed several near misses.
Room was large with a balcony with a view. Beds were overly soft with no large comforter & just not that comfortable we found.
Rooms seem extremley close together, had lots of noise in the hallway, next door, & above us well after midnight resulting in a poor night's sleep. Sound proofness definetly below average. Didn't help that we were right beside stairwell door which we could hear closing again well into the wee morning hour!
Very good deluxe breakfast included, coffee not good. No "buisness center", just one computer located right out in the open on the floor near front desk, no privacy once so ever.
Staff were very friendly & accomadating. Check in was quick but there was no express check out, had to wait several minutes in line to check out.
Overall, although this hotel is okay & reasonably priced for the area, we would most likely try a different place next time in Canmore. It's the "little things" or lack thereof that often sets these types of properties apart.

This i's a very nice hotel with a great mountain view. Rooms are spacious and modern. We were looking forward to the fireplace after a chilly motorcycle ride from Jasper. Staff was friendly and accommodating and helpful with suggestions for dining etc. Continental breakfast was very good, nice variety.

The room was clean, quiet and fashionably decorated. The beds are comfortable. We tested them by jumping up and down on them like trampolines. We ate breakfast that was included which was very convenient for us so we didn't have to drive somewhere else and spend extra money. The only problem is some parents are stupid when it comes to eating breakfast. One of the parents don't stay at the table while the other could get food for their small children. I saw one mother allow her son who was about two to walk around with a bowl of cereal and he was too young to carry it so the contents spilled all the carpet as he was walking. Other people crushed the cereal bits on the carpet as they walked over them. There is no need for such stupidity. There were another group of children mixing coffee with juice and creating a real mess at the food counters. The father didn't supervise them at all and let them run loose. I can just imagine the state of the room that housekeeping has to face when opening the door. Otherwise, everything is excellent.
