Not sure that this place is really a hotel/motel/Inn as basically you just rent a room. No daily housekeeping service is supplied unless you arrange for it in advance and pay extra. Restocking toiletries/exchanging towels is a DIY service at reception. There’s a damage deposit to pay and a list of ‘rules’ to follow to avoid additional cleaning charges & ensure the deposit is refunded. The room & ensuite was cramped - the door barely cleared the WC! Masses of hot water in powerful shower though. It was very hot and airless in the room. The aircon was deafeningly noisy but with the window open there was a lot of road/rail noise as we faced the front.
This accommodation was one of the cheaper places available and we now understand now how they keep their prices low. If, like us, you’re not bothered about maid service and you’re clean/tidy enough to ensure your deposit’s returned, then this is a good option in a convenient location, but a room at the back would be quieter. WiFi was good but sockets very minimal - all relying on a multi-point extension lead dangling by bed.
I believe that some rooms are very basic with no amenities at all while other premium rooms have kettle, microwave, fridge, etc. There are communal facilities in lobby area with a small eating area. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and in many ways it was relaxing not having to be aware of housekeeping knocking on the door!!

Despite the sun outside, it’s a throwback. Can’t have been updated for a while. Spacious room, with fridge and average size flat screen TV.

DESPITE THE RATE ON ARRIVAL WORKING OUT TO BE £103.15 per day, there is little in the room to show for it.

You have to make your beverages in a public space, next to reception. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in your room. Bathroom/shower clean and tidy with products provided.

Had to open a dirty window onto the car park. A ground floor room, with some of a mountain view. Despite your room on view to whoever parks under your window, there isn’t any window net to help with your privacy.

A very noisy air conditioning unit!

Compared to the Hilton London Gatwick, with dressing gowns, slippers, tea coffee, room service etc and a more luxurious room and surroundings in general, with onsite facilities for £120 per night. Well there is no contest!

Disappointed to say the least!

Room Tip: Wouldn’t bother!

This place was great! Clean, large rooms, friendly staff and great location. We loved our stay here and wished we had spent more time at Mountain View Inn and in Canmore. The staff was super sweet and the hotel was quiet and peaceful. The hotel is older but well maintained and very clean. The rooms were large and very reasonably priced. This town is great and we enjoyed this area way more than Banff. We will return here and highly recommend Mountain View Inn!

Looking for a less expensive area near Banff, we discovered Canmore. The price was just right, but you do get what you pay for. And we suspected that. The exterior looks okay, and the hanging baskets and flowers in pots were such a nice touch. Check-in was easy as we had already been charged - just a brief "credit card and ID, please." The room was clean and something from out of the 70's I would say. For the price we did not expect to see a mountain, but a teeny glimpse of a peak poked through the clouds. Towels were thin but white, room was clean and somewhat dark in the early morning hours, and the fan set to "on" helped to drown out parking lot noise. Hubby went looking for coffee after check-in and before we left the next day but came back empty handed. There is at least one Starbucks fairly close. Bed was harder than a rock, but the water was nice and hot in the shower and really helped to ease the morning sore back and stiffness. Window opened and that was a nice feature not found in too many places these days. Okay for those nights when you are watching your pocketbook.

Stayed in this Inn for 6 nights. The room was clean and comfortable with a coffee maker (could do with some better coffee), microwave, fridge and free wifi. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was plenty of parking. It was very convenient for walking into Canmore and was close to restaurants, stores, etc. The Tourist office was down the road where we could buy our park passes. FYI - Watch out for speed cameras around Calgary and in Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.
