Stayed at Canadian Rockies Chalets recently. It was spotlessly clean and we were delighted to have a bedroom each. The decor in the bedrooms was nice and bright. We loved coming back to the cottage after a day to relax. There is a balcony or patio area in each unit with a couple of chairs so you can sit outside. Staff are all very nice and helpful. We had plenty of utensils and everything we needed. As previously mentioned, the trains can be an issue to sleep so I would say bring earplugs just in case. But all the hotels along the tracks will be the same so it's not just here. The cougar units are further from the trains than the railway unit . Bear can be located at either. Supermarket is 5 min stroll. Parking for 1 car only but no problem parking across the street at all. Easy walk to restaurants and centre of town . The only criticism is that the unit was a little too warm but a fan is supplied and we think the price reflected this . We would have paid a lot more for air conditioning. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: The cougar Cougar Cottages are furthest from the tracks . Bear units are on the ground floor of either a cougar or a railway cottage.

Friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently central location. Excellent rooms and facilities for self-catering for 2 couples.
Beautiful views of The Three Sisters and well situated for exploring further afield.
Sadly the proximity of the railway line, with trains running at regular intervals through the night, did disrupt sleep. Earplugs would have helped.

Room Tip: Request a room as far removed from the railway line as possible

My family just returned from a 3 night stay at the Canadian Rockies Chalets in Canmore. We stayed at this property several years ago and enjoyed our stay and booked this property again. This property has been painted since we last stayed and is very clean. The location is excellent. It is a 5 minute walk to the Save On Foods & Safeway and about a 10 minute walk to the Main Street shops & restaurants, not to mention about a 15 minute ride to Banff.

This time we booked a Bear Den suite. This is a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom unit - 1 queen bed in 1 bedroom & 1 double bed in the other plus a pullout sofa bed in the living room so it can accommodate 6. The furniture & appliances are a bit dated but overall very comfortable & good value for Canmore. The kitchen does have the minimum dishes, glassware, cutlery, & cooking equipment as well as a toaster & coffee maker. Our unit was on the street side which I recommend rather than the units on the railway side as the rail side rooms tend to be noisier. We had 2 little patios both with chairs. Free wifi in the units. The view is beautiful as the mountains are all around. No daily maid service but if you need supplies or need to exchange towels you can go to the office & they will help you. No pool or hot tub. No a/c. One free parking spot is included. We had 2 vehicles & had to park one in the free parking area across the road near the hospital. No problems or issues. It is more for economical traveler who wants a good price, clean & comfortable accommodation & great location.

This is good for families, couples & singles. I would recommend staying here and I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Bear Den Or Cougar Chalets on the roadside which is quieter than the railway side.

Everything we needed. This place was nothing fancy but has everything! The rooms are spacious and perfect for our week long vacation. Stocked kitchen helped us save money by eating in. We were never bothered the whole trip. The view from the porch is beautiful! Canmore is a perfect location as well and much more affordable than staying in Banff. 15 minute drive to Banff and about 45 to lake Louise. Great central location to hit all the must see spots. The downtown of Canmore has great shops and fabulous food!

Stayed here for two nights with family. The building is about a 2 star rating, and was incredibly noisy. It is situated directly behind railroad tracks. The CPR runs trains about every hour all day and night, and it's brutal. In addition to the trains, I was also woken by drunk neighbours hollering and carrying on in the condo common area right outside our bedroom windows.
With the exception of one king bed in the master suite, the other bedrooms are double beds - a tight squeeze for couples. The condo was also uncomfortably warm, (and it's only May!) Front desk supplied one large fan for our family of 6 to share.
Kitchen was functional, but very old. Building is located in a nice area, lots of restaurants and shops. But I would not stay here again due to the above. Look elsewhere if you want a decent night's sleep.
