A very friendly pub/restaurant/hotel in the prettiest of villages, set ideally for exploring the local area as far as Scarborough and Whitby and beyond.
The room was very clean and comfortable, although we would have liked hotter water coming out of the shower!
The food was exceptional, with locally sourced meat and eggs and home cooked desserts. A real treat!
We definitely recommend this place and really hope to visit it again.

We just love this place. We just love the food, the atmosphere. Dawn & Nigel are great owners, and make us all welcome.
Marvellous walking area, with great views. The room we stayed in was very spacious and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed.
Have recommended to everyone!

Room Tip: Room 2 & 10 lovely family rooms. Room 7 & 8 have Four-posters. Room 1 - ground floor room with twin beds

We were taken to the pub by friends as we were visiting the Robert Thompson (Mouseman) furniture shop and Museum opposite.
We were given a friendly welcome and the lunchtime snacks were excellent and very good value.

Excellent short break in friendly pub. Excellent breakfast and evening meals. Not the most up to date accomodation but it is a very old building so that is what we expected. Lovely "mouseman" furniture in bar and dining room and right next door to the showroom. We would definitly go again.
