stayed with Helen for two nights over the bank holiday weekend - The house is just up from the harbour and Helen is the most welcoming host. The room was very spacious with a wonderful view of the harbour. Breakfast was perfect with many options. I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough. I will certainly be back.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are best

It was our first visit to Clare Island. O'Gradys is just a few minutes walk up from the harbour. Helen had already contacted us to see which boat we would be on and was there to welcome us. (It turned out Helens husband was driving the boat!!)We had a very nice room upstairs overlooking the blue flag beach. The room was very comfortable with a well appointed ensuite. There is a nice residents lounge and a big breakfast room. Evening Meal was in the Sailors bar a few hundred metres along the coast. Great Breakfast. Even the mini-Irish is large!! Clare Island only has a population of 160 and everything has to be brought in by boat so it is relatively remote. It is about 12 miles around the island.
We had two very enjoyable nights on the Island with lots of walking and cant say enough about Helens warmth and hospitality.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the beach are nice. Book the boat at busy times

Unlike most other B&Bs, the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious! You won't be afraid to share with family members because it is not cramped at all. Even the shared living area is large with a big TV and couches.

Importantly, the location is prime and you'll have a very easy walk from the pier. Most important, though: Helen is so kind! I always love staying here during my visits.

A beautiful place including the warm welcome from Helen. My room was spacious yet cozy. Filled with all the necessities one would want or need ie. The makings for tea, shortbread cookies, toiletries,a makeup mirror,TV. It was a first class room. Bathroom was large. I wish I could have stayed another day. Breakfast was delicious. She has a wide variety of entrees. I chose the mini Irish breakfast. Hot and presentation was elegant!

Stayed here for one night. Helen was so welcoming and friendly .The house is next to the beach and they have swimming towels, so a quick dip before breakfast was spot on.
Left on the early ferry with a delicious homemade scone for elevenses ... thanks Helen.
