A bit hesitant when we arrived as the hotel was closed and we had to phone the owner. A member of staff arrived promptly, glad it was not raining. On being let into an annexe at back, was pleasantly surprised rooms were warm, welcoming a And clean. As it was out of season they only do b & b, so we had to go to a pub for evening meal. Not a problem but wish we had known. Luckily other guests were staying and the rest of our party had booked the self catering house, just 2 min away. 12 of us in all. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of cereals, fresh coffee, and good cooked. The only down side was we could have done with larger towels, ceiling was damaged from a leak above so paper hanging and brown patch. But overall good value for money. Wifi not available in room but in public places.

Room Tip: 1st floor no noise from cars in back yard

This is a quaint and charming guest house in Oldcastle. The included breakfast is fresh and delicious and made to order. The bar is nice and they have live music some nights. The rooms are clean, comfortable and charming. My only issue was that I had no hot water for showers in the morning. It seems the hot water heater doesn't hold enough hot water to accommodate the number of people taking showers. It was chilly in Oldcastle while I was there so having to take a cold shower in the morning wasn't pleasant. Other than that my stay was very nice.

Staff could not hav been any nicer they were so accomodating and helpful. Both house and b and b was very comfortable and very clean. Personally I would like to say thanks to donna, Gary and al who made our wkend most enjoyable.

My husband and I had a last minute decision to stay. The staff let us book in late and very accommodating. The room was lovely and the whole bar and building was very clean and please to the eye. Breakfast was nice, with a very decent coffee. Only thing was the puddles of urine we had to step over in the court yard. I don't think it should be used as a dog loo

A few of us stayed in a couple of rooms here on the 10th July 2015 and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were great, the food was lovely and even the locals were nice to talk to. We would highly recommend this place - we'd love to stay again, all we need to do now is think of a reason to go to that part of the world again.

People who own small accommodation businesses would do well to learn a thing or two about how to do things right from these people.
