All I want to do is rave about the amazing staff and hotel! We just got married there on Friday, had approx 65 people and not one person had a complaint. The food, the view, the rooms... All incredible! The bathrooms are a dream! Steam and rainfall shower, heated floors and heated toilet seat. The bed was super comfy too! I can’t wait to go back. Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful 4 days!!!!

The Landing has a great location where you can take in sunset from the patio of the restaurant or your room. The decor and facilities here are high-end compared to many of the lodging establishments around them, and more luxurious than staying in any of the basic rooms at casinos nearby.

The hotel was excellent but we felt let down by the poor service by the front of house reception staff.

The hotel is a brilliant location, right on the beach. The room was excellent, well equipped, comfortable and with a view of the lake. The restaurant was excellent - they were able to accommodate us late (more about why it was late), the service in the restaurant was fabulous.

So what was the problem. Well there was a music event on at the beach. It was further than the shuttle bus normally travels but they said they would take us anyway and pick us up after. We had a great night at the music festival but afterwards when we rang the hotel they said they couldn't pick us up because it was too far. We had found up where the boundary was so we said we'd walk to there if they could pick us up from the location they have mentioned earlier in the evening.

So we went on a walk and found that we were (strangers) in a sleazy area with lots of unsavoury characters around. We had to wait there for the shuttle bus to pick us up.

Despite the location having been pointed out to us earlier and despite several phone calls during which we described where we were and buildings around (shops, hotel, restaurants) the shuttle bus driver seemed unable to locate us.

We were left nearly 45 minutes in this situation before they were able to find us.

During this time I had rung reception at the hotel to check whether they would be able to get us back before the restaurant shut, and was told the restaurant was shutting. And with the 45 minute delay in the shuttle bus finding us that the hotel was no longer able to provide any food. They were recommending that we could get back to the hotel and then walk out to fast food place.

Clearly fast food was not what we had in mind, nor by this time were we in a mood to walk back out of the hotel when we got back so we were in a foul mood.

Eventually we got back and got into a discussion with the reception desk about what food they were able to offer. Despite them having told us they couldn't do anything we were clearly in a bad mood and unhappy at what had happened so they said they would ring through to the restaurant to see what they could do.

The restaurant couldn't have been more accommodating. They said there was no problem at all and they were still open (contrary to what the reception desk had told us). So we went through to the restaurant and they were brilliant. The server was fabulous at putting us at our ease and we had a lovely unhurried meal, overlooking the beach,

Why couldn't reception have behaved similarly ?

So as you can tell, although our stay was good and we enjoyed South Lake Tahoe and enjoyed the hotel and the rooms. We were rather unhappy with the service, and said so when we checked out the next day.

The rating would have been worse if it was just based on the reception service but to be fair the rest of the hotel and the room were excellent. So it is an average.

From the moment we were greeted by Jason at the Valet and our check in with Michelle, we felt like we were in good hands. And we were proven to be correct throughout our stay!

Room: We stayed in a Premium King, and can't say enough about how warm and inviting the room is. I'll be brief, but the list is long! The king size bed is extremely comfortable, and the sheets were of very high quality. The fireplace is a really relaxing touch. The heated floors in the bathroom, and the jetted tub, and euro-shower make it so that you'll almost never want to leave the bathroom. The layout of the room is also just perfect. The pair of chairs were perfect for my wife and myself after a day out by Heavenly to unwind and relax in front of the fireplace. The desk is also a nice size, and features USB charging ports for added convenience. Overall, we've stayed at a lot of very nice hotels across the country, but this room was laid out so well it's right up there with the best we've stayed in. It's all just so well thought out.

Staff: Every time we were in and out, Michelle (who checked us in) made sure to catch us out of the corner of her eye and ask us how our stay was! Jason was our initial valet and bellman, and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful with tips on our stay. All the others at valet were also very helpful, but the first impressions were just so amazing.

Hotel Amenities: The on site restaurant, Jimmy's, was incredible. The staff is friendly, and the food was filling and delicious. There wasn't anything we didn't like. The fitness center overlooks Lake Tahoe, and has top of the line cardio equipment and nice set of free weights. A great way to start the day! The steam room and the sauna are also a great way to relax, and were both incredibly clean. Also, huge shoutout to the cleaning staff. They were incredibly friendly, and keep the rooms, and entire place, immaculate!

Overall, you just can't go wrong by staying here. A must-stay location if you're in South Tahoe and looking for a truly relaxing vacation!

This hotel was absolutely wonderful! The room was fabulous. Heated floors, heated toilet seat, soaking massage tub, huge shower, fireplace, balcony.... I could go on and on. The service was fantastic. Complimentary valet, complimentary shuttle service everywhere we needed to go, complimentary champagne on arrival. I wish we could take Andre from valet home with us! He was so helpful, friendly and welcoming - Everyone we encountered was. They store your skis for you and heat your ski boots. The Spa was lovely. Jimmys was excellent. These people just get it. Every detail was perfect and I can’t wait to come back.
