Absolutely ZERO frills here. The prices are cheap but if you are just looking for a place to crash for a night the price is perfect. Considering that hotels less than a mile down the road go for $250 a night and this place go for $89 I am thinking I got the better deal. No coffee pot, shampoo sucks and bed is hard but the rest of it is very old but very clean. The paint scheme is bright and airy and even though everything is obviously old, it has been well taken care of. I would stay here again.. for a night but not for extended stay..

Room Tip: take a second floor no smoking room

The room was Great, price was high but they had a lot going on in Lake Tahoe that night. We also didn't plan in advance where we would be staying nor did we know all the events that were taking place that weekend. Over all I was very happy with the Office staff they did everything they could to accommodate to my request.. As a pregnant Woman on vacation with in laws should say it all.. lol!!! We will be go back to this place when we had back out to Lake Tahoe ,sometime next year. Looking forward to that..

Room Tip: Room right above the office has Lots of space, sleeps enough + some extra if needed

This time, I would like to share my experience in staying at National 9 Inn in South Lake Tahoe last December. We arrived at the hotel property around noon and we proceeded directly to the hotel for check-in. Check-in was fine although it could be a lot faster if there was somebody else helped the lady in the front desk area.

This time, they assigned us in the 2nd floor and there was no elevator in this hotel property so that we had to drag all our luggage manually, which was quite painful for those who bring quite a number of luggage with them. Room was okay and clean although I could still smell odor that came out of a particular spice in the room but we ignored it as the odor was not really strong.

During our brief stay, we had nothing fantastic to share nor had anything to complaint about. Everything was fine. Breakfast was really a simple one, only pastries with different flavors and coffee, nothing else but we didn't complain as the hotel's rate was very cheap. Another plus point is their location : It is located off the main road (you simply can't miss it) and it is not too far away from the casino but walking during winter time can be quite challenging.

Room Tip: Request for room in the ground level as they don't have elevator

Place is well located, easy to find and with friendly staff. Rooms were clean, but it could be better. Shower head was too low, probably for a short person. TV is not flat screen, but was working fine. Maybe an upgrade would be more desirable.
What caught more our attention was the miserable "continental breakfast" with only coffee and pre-packaged pastries (Danish). Other hotels, for the same price offer fruit, juice, boiled eggs, and water.
Although we were in a Non-Smoking room, the smell of people smoking got into our room. T

Room Tip: Second floor provides a quiet stay. Try to stay away from smoking-rooms because the smell will go to your room too. You can find a Safeway very close, going North from the hotel if you want to budget and balance the miserable breakfast the hotel provides.

Not a bad place to stay for the money. Right off the main street in South Tahoe California.
They kept the parking area cleared of snow as it had snowed quite a bit during our stay. Very attentive and the owners are very nice people and would definitely stay again...
