“Good food average prices for the area.”
Reviewed 19 December 2011

Definitely try the Calamari appetizer. They use large strips of calamari streak and it was tender and tasty. Salad bar has lots to choose from and meal was very good. My husband and I both had Veal Saltimboca, which was layered rather than rolled and smothered in a delicious sauce, (a little too smothered for my taste). Service was attentive. Prices were a little high, but that's the resort area. Stick to beer or wine I had a Martini and the glass was barely large enough for an olive! Overall a very nice meal.

“Delicious, inexpensive, and great service!”
Reviewed 7 November 2011

We went to Tep's Villa Roma two nights in a row. The first night we went because there was a coupon in our timeshare. Everything was so good we went back the next night!

The food was delicious. We had spaghetti one night, and lasagne the next. The portions are generous. The salad bar is one of the best we've ever seen, if not THE best. The first night, we arrived at about 9:30 - the salad bar still looked fresh and was well stocked. Soup also comes on the salad bar. The restaurant gladly allows a couple to share an entree (this is mentioned on the menu) - but of course, not the salad bar - but ordering just the salad bar was very inexpensive.

Our server's name was Becky - she was a delight. She was friendly, efficient, and informative.

We will definitely go back to this restaurant again!

“Decent Italian food, reasonable prices”
Reviewed 30 October 2011

We dined at Tep's after a busy day of checking out Lake Tahoe in October of 2011. We're originally from Philadelphia, so we have pretty high standards for Italian food and Tep's was definitely above average. The ambiance is quiet but pleasant, and most of their entrees come with a decent (good but not great) soup and salad bar. They have a nice (alcohol) bar out towards the front with easy access (separate from the dining area but available), and the food was very good (I can safely recommend the lasagna). Not the best Italian you'll ever have but on a cold fall night in Lake Tahoe it really hit the spot. Plus, the pricing is fairly reasonable (especially for Tahoe) at about $12-20 per entree.

“Traditional Italian restaurant - Yum”
Reviewed 12 October 2011

Tep's is a very traditional Italian restaurant and has traditional great food. Everything we ate was great - the minestrone soup, raviolis, veal parmigiane. It was so good that we went several times during our 6 night stay in Lake Tahoe. I asked for a dirty martini twice and got a great martini - perfectly mixed. My husband was quite happy with the chianti that came by the glass. There is a salad bar which has all the salad fixins plus traditional Italian items like salami and pepperoncini.

The setting is large, but pretty intimate with several rooms. The noise level is pretty low. Tables are covered in checked oil cloth and lighting is low. There are no windows - the show is the food. Service is very friendly and knowledgeable. If you just want to go for a drink, there is a nice bar by the front door - not visible from the dining room but you pass it as you go in. First come first serve - no reservations.

We enjoyed Tep's so much that we are planning another trip to South Lake Tahoe just so we can go back to Tep's and have the salad bar, a martini, some wine and raviolis. You just don't find good traditional Italian restaurants like this any more.

“Overpriced food and poor service”
Reviewed 6 September 2011

The food is definitely over priced. The interior of the restaurant looks good and cosy. The food as such was ok nothing great for the expensive price, however, the biggest let down was the waitress, she was kind of rude and did not have a positive body language.I would not recommend this place if you are looking for good food and a good dining experience.
