Stayed for one night only last night , pitch was just big enough, not much turning space , showers couldn't be switched on until you were inside them so it started off freezing as they were fixed shower heads ,
Meals were decent pub grub , the girl that served us was very helpful and friendly but the Bloke who runs the place was smoking his vape pen at the bar which is not to my liking.
And whatever you do if you take your dog DONT LET IT OFF THE LEAD!!!!!! that will be drummed into you over and over again at check in !! It was handy to stop to break our journey but I won't be back I'm afraid

My hubby booked this and I was little worried when I read reviews.
It is a lovely site .Spacious and toilet block is fab.
The views are spectacular.
The pub serves lovely food and the owners are helpful and will give you any advice.
Quite remote .need to go 4 miles for groceries .
Will definately be back and would recommend.

Just home from a lovely weekend at the Duke of York. Lovely clean site with immaculate facilities, staff were friendly and welcoming and the views are stunning. We had lunch in the pub, nice food, brilliant homemade chips. will definitely return.

We arrived on the Friday, and the check in time of 3pm was getting close, we called the DOY and they were very helpful confirming they would wait for us, thus saving any stress for us to get there.
We were allotted a pitch and pitched, what a wonderful view which came with the countryside smell, nothing reflecting the slurry of the other review. Must admit that's a countryside fragrance, which us townie people don't do too well as the previous review, aged as it is and reflecting the previous owners.
The toilet block, always a focus to judge a place on, it was warm, it was clean, the cubicles had locks on that worked.
Moving onto the DOY we booked in for a meal, on a busy Saturday night, I can see why it's busy, the food is plentiful whilst also being very well presented, the salad and homemade coleslaw is worth it!! Their service, whilst we were very relaxed and not on a time limit, was attentive and communicative as time elapsed. Back to the site, the new owners have stamped their imagine on the place, and whilst talking with them clearly have a plan for further improvement, obviously with more bookings, which we will go again, the money will support their plans.
Finally, the Friday night saw a water leak early in the evening and suspension of supply by Severn Trent who performed well and got things going by late evening, a situation the DOY could not affect, but the lady from the DOY went round and told all the people on the caravan site, and followed up the following morning. Touch of communicative class!
