I was given a Christmas present of an Afternoon Tea for two people and so went along with my husband. We had an excellent selection of sandwiches, tarts and cakes presented by a very efficient and polite waiter. Couldn't fault anything about the afternoon. It was most enjoyable and would certainly return.

Stayed here for one night with my partner in January for a post Christmas break and what a fabulous place. Very easy to find and what a stunningly beautiful old building.

Check in was smooth and straightforward with one of the most helpful reception staff I have come across. Nothing was too much trouble and gave very useful advice for visiting Stratford and Warwick. We also booked a table for dinner in the Oak Restaurant after reading so many positive reviews on it

We were shown to our room by a very helpful member of staff (sorry, I forgot his name), and what a room!!! We had room 9 and it was huge and incredibly well furnished!! We were totally amazed at it. There was a bulb out in the bathroom which we mentioned as we headed out for the afternoon and by the time we returned it had already been replaced

Due to a prior appointment that my partner had, we had to head out early evening but were eating at the hotel at 9pm. However, due to bad traffic on the return, we were running late for dinner and the restaurant took last orders at 9pm. My partner phoned the hotel to say we would be around 15 minutes late and the hotel simply said its not a problem, we will wait for you getting here when you can. This was something they didn't have to do as the other restaurant in the hotel was open until 9.30pm so they could have moved us into there. However, they did not do this and we were still able to eat in the restaurant of our choice. Top marks for customer service to all staff involved in that.

The food, ah, the food!! Absolutely fabulous quality and perfect portion size. We had 3 courses off the menu and every course was an absolute delight. Accompanied by a superb bottle of wine and fantastic, attentive service, it couldn't be faulted

We ordered breakfast in our room the next morning and it was served spot on time and piping hot. The quality was as good as the meal the night before

Although we had to check out that morning, we were told we could still use the pool and other facilities that day, so we decided to take advantage of this. Beautiful pool and Jacuzzi in very relaxing (we had it to ourselves) and clean surroundings. If we didn't have to head back we would have stayed in there all day!!

One final note before summarising. The staff were fantastic, every single one of them. All staff were so attentive, helpful and cheerful we felt immediately at home. Every member of staff knew our names without us telling them and were so polite and courteous. Now that's customer service and attention to detail which is a fantastic breath of fresh air in this day and age

In summary, a fantastic hotel in beautiful surroundings with staff who make your entire stay a pleasure. The food is amazing and the whole experience of staying here makes you feel so relaxed and chilled

WARNING : One night wont be enough!!!!!!!

Room, wall too thin, with view of the bins and a brick wall, we were woken at midnight by noisy guests next door, we had to ring night security around 2.15 am to complain. it was resolved they dropped quiet after they had a phone call!
The food was great , the swimming, and leisure facilities were great, staff extremely friendly and professional, we would stay again if it is on a cheap deal.

Like staying in a national trust property. History and grounds are amazing. Feel like royalty. Beds amazing. Service amazing. Can't fault the hotel. However, make sure not to eat there until they've change chefs. I'll review separately because it's not fair to tar the hotels reputation.

We stayed in the Stour Suite in August 2016 and it was a superb experience. The location & views are sublime, the food excellent and the service fabulous. Highly recommended - it is rare these days to encounter star who really care.

Room tip: Stour Suite was fabulous, dual aspect, great views, period features and a lovely place to relax.
