When making the booking here as part of a wedding group I wasn't sure what to expect, not being keen on hotels of this size, but it was a really pleasant surprise. The room was spacious, clean, modern and with amazing views of the river Tagus. The second day there was a problem with the plumbing in the bathroom but Reception quickly moved us to an identical room, so no problem there. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the meal we had in the restaurant also. The indoor and outdoor pools were clean and appealing. It's a perfect place for a family holiday with so many amenities available. I would recommend hiring a car though if you don't have your own as its not exactly central.

I was a little unsure at first as I am not a fan of big hotels. However, it was fantastic. The apartment was large, clean and well designed with comfort in making mind. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and some of the best we had during our time in Portugal. The pool is amazing. Breakfast is varied and delicious. I would not hesitate to stay again - it is designed to help you to relax. Brilliant. Thank you, Solplay

I had the pleasure to be guest of this hotel from August the 20th to August the 27th with my family. We are quite a noise family because it is me, my wife, my little princess of almost 2 y.o. and the two boys, aged 6 and 8.We found in this hotel really the perfection for a family holiday
Everything was perfect, from the breakfast in the morning, the kids corner and the outstanding swimming pools. All the staff member were kind and eager to help. Really we found ourselves like or even better then home. If you have kids and want to relax and at the same time enjoy Lisbon, this is the place to be.
Excellent

Beautiful place and surroundings, breathtaking view, huge well-equipped apartment, comfortable bed, great staff, amazing breakfast.
Although Hotel is located far from Lisbon main spots, you can get there in about 30 min by car, no toll roads! (An important piece of advice: if you plan to stay at Solplay, you should rent a car, is a plus that the hotel has free parking)

Room tip: high floors

This hotel is used a lot by business people, so during the day those just there on holiday have ALL the facilities to themselves. When you arrive at reception you may feel it's a little small and understated, but that is just because this is the start of your calm and peaceful break. They don't need a large reception area, there is no rush because there is no queue. No mass check in or out, even though the hotel may be just about full. The pool is lovely, swim up to the bar or the bar staff will come to you. Lots of available loungers with sun shades and many other comfortable places to sit or stretch out. Everything is clean, beds are comfortable and mostly the rooms are quiet. The balconies are a more than a comfortable size. Families are welcome and there is even a character breakfast for children - not that it will be a problem for those who don't want to meet a hotel staff member dressed as a Disney icon.Breakfast is a reasonable selection of continental with some bacon and eggs etc. and a pancake station. Is the breakfast exciting? - well you may have had better, but it's all fresh and you won't go hungry. Good coffee selection. The lunch and evening meal selection is a little limited (though all the food tastes fresh and freshly cooked and the meat and fish selection has been carefully sourced), but you probably won't be eating all your meals in the hotel. The staff are polite, helpful and easy to have around.
The location is on the outskirts of the city (part of the reason you can find some unhurried peace here), but it does mean you will need a car or build into your budget using taxis. There is not much around the hotel at all, but it's not far from the beach. A taxi into Lisbon centre is about 15 euro each way, but in my opinion it is more than worth it to have the best of both worlds - a calm, unhurried and relaxing hotel with an historic, vibrant and beautiful city close by. If I return to Lisbon I would not hesitate to stay here again.
