This is a lovely quaint hotel in El Fuerte and I would recommend staying here. The property is absolutely beautiful, with so much garden space, terraces and a good location. It is close to the main sights in the city and the river.

The room was large, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was good. The TV even had Netflix (to use with your own password).

Staff is courteous and helpful. Even though barely anyone speaks English, they still try to help as far as possible. Dinner was good and the server was also very good. Breakfast was delicious too (but service was a bit slow and inattentive). For breakfast you have to select any one item from a fixed menu. The place where breakfast is served has the nicest ambiance.

I arrived late at night and left early in the morning - I wish I could have stayed at this hotel longer. As soon as I walked in, it had the most cheerful and happy vibe. Would recommend this hotel in El Fuerte.

Room Tip: A room facing the garden

We tsayed here for just one night while in El Fuerte.
Our room was very large, opening onto a large courtyard.
I wish we had stayed here for more nights.
The Breakfast was very good.
They offer a "cheesy" Zorro show around the pool at 8PM.
This appealed to the many children who were there.

Plus points:
- nice garden and building,
- little pool,
- spacious room,
- good beds,
- performance and storytelling of Zorro

Minus points:
- steep way to get at the reception,
- decoration of the room is basic,
- curtains don't darken the room
- we had a room at the street side. Church bells at 6 a.m.
- make sure you have enough time to get your breakfast (we had to wait more than 20 minutes - breakfast is à la carte. Important if you have to catch the Copper Canyon train)
- not a lot to see in the little town. Just good enough for an overnight stop for the Copper Canyon train.

Room Tip: make sure you don't have a room at the streetsides

We loved this hotel. The gardens are beautiful. Rooms ok, friendly staff, good breakfast. Location in perfect next to the museum and 1 block away from the main plaza and other attractions. If you stay at El Fuerte stay at this hotel

We stopped in El Fuerte to catch the Chepe train to Copper Canyon. Someone had told us this was a nice town and it certainly is - one of the nicest small colonial towns we have found in Mexico in 7 years here (admittedly mostly on the coast). It's a mistake to do Copper Canyon without breaking the journey here and getting the train 2 hours later than Los Mochis - taxi ride only MX$1300 from Topolobampo.
The hotel is well described, quiet with nice room, beautiful courtyards (many of them) and 100 years old. Well maintained and the staff are very professional and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the courtesy Zorro show amusing. The hotel is right next to the fort and best view of the city and river.
We stayed in 3 hotels on this trip, this was the cheapest and the best.

Room Tip: We had a room over the street but it was quiet. Other rooms had terraces/views, enquire
