I stayed at Cafe Playa Negra during my recent trip to Costa Rica and will be returning again at the end of May. I will certainly be staying at Cafe Playa Negra again. The staff are wonderful, polite and kind. The grounds are well maintained and clean. It has an overall wonderful vibe and energy perfect for the laid back groove of Costa Rica in general, and Playa Negra specifically. As a surfer, Cafe Playa Negra is very also very accommodating. It's a short walk from the famous Playa Negra reef and beach break. The hotel also has it's own restaurant and bar. The chef Juan Carlos is incredible and super warm and friendly. Every dish I ate there was delicious and this makes it very convenient as well since the best food in town is in the hotel. Cannot recommend this place more. Definitely check it out for your trip to this part of Costa Rica, which is just stunning. Oh... the water pressure in the shower is amazing.

My existence is fabulous after these awesome meals fresh out of the sea made with so much love from the local cook!

Definitely recommend to stop by whenever you are in this little town.

You will thank me later :)

Enjoy ;)

We stayed next door to this Cafe Playa Negra at the Yoga Retreat in a Casita and were allowed to use all the facilities they offered. We really enjoyed the pool during those 35 degree celcius hot summer days.

Stay here for the second time while taking yoga teacher training with Hali and Playa Negra Yoga & Barre. It’s lovely and comfortable. Very convenient while taking all day training. A nice walk to the beach and the food was delicious!

I stayed at Cafe Playa Negra for 2 weeks while doing Yoga Teacher training. Carlos and his staff were AMAZING! Incredible food and location. I can't recommend this place enough. I will definitely stay here again!

Room tip: The rooms directly above the bar area have the best WiFi connection.
