Stayed 3 nights during coach trip to Scotland. Perfectly adequate for purpose, typical ,budget ,coach trip style hotel. Clean and generally value for money. Room comfortable, clean, with all basic amenities provided, some basic tea tray items not replaced after day one - biscuits/ hot chocolate. No shower mat provided and shower dangerously slippy- asked at reception,to be told " we do have some if you ask,but guests steal them" !! Buffet breakfast excellent and plentiful, coach trip dinner menu poor value, unimaginative and disappointing( so much so that on last night we paid twice and ate in main restaurant !
Cheaply built construction building in need of some TLC, thin walls, you can hear people walking about in rooms above and general decor in need of attention. Staff friendly enough, but in need of training in all areas.
Generally value for money for a budget hotel, but don't expect too much.

We stayed overnight twice as a stopover on outward and return journeys during a coach trip on the way to Thurso and the Orkneys. Very pleasant experience! Staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. Rooms were more than adequate for our needs, clean and comfortable with walk in shower. The evening meal, even though a limited menu for coach tour clients was more than palatable - excellent desert too! Breakfast the following morning was again excellent. Wide range of items from 'full Scottish' to cereals, pastries etc. Everything where applicable, freshly cooked and hot. Added bonus for history buffs - right next to battlefield of Bannockburn with open countryside suitable for walking. We like this hotel so much we hope to revisit as independent travellers. Well done, King Robert staff!

This is an older hotel of a 80s /90s construct. Some of features endure and in the main structure itself the age is apparent. There is no lift. It is immediately next to the Bannockburn memorial. An £8.00 taxi ride will get you to the centre of Stirling. Found the bus service was also good and obviously a bit cheaper.
A stellar level of old fashioned customer service from everyone made this hotel a good one to stay at. Lewis and Ryan stood out but staff in general could not do enough. Meals were of a good quality and were greatly enjoyed by myself and the family. The room was adequate and comfortable. There was even some live entertainment which went down particularly well with the older guests who were about to have a sing song when I drank up and went for some much needed sleep.
I would certainly stay again.
