I stayed at the Hotel Lirice for 2 nights. The hotel is situated about a 8-minute walk from the main square (zocalo), so it's easily accessible but unfortunately not right next door (hence the great price!). My room had two double beds, a private bathroom, hot water (it takes a few minutes to get hot), and a small TV.
One downside to the hotel is that rooms are not particularly soundproof, so you may hear your neighbors and/or street traffic at times. It was not loud enough to disrupt my stay, but if you are a light sleeper, you may want to pack earplugs just in case your neighbors are less respectful.
The hotel courtyard was under renovation during my stay, but the construction was not intrusive or noisy.
Like most of Comitan, the staff did not speak any English, but were more than happy to give directions/recommendations in Spanish and store my luggage after the noon check-out until my afternoon bus. They were very friendly and staffed round the clock.
No credit cards are accepted, cash in Mexican pesos only. They were ill-prepared to make change for big bills, so plan accordingly.
All in all, I'd stay here again.More
