San Vincente--just a short walk from the beach--offers spacious rooms, all immaculately maintained; a tree-covered nook where one can catch up after dinner; and a clean dining area. The food was consistently delicious, with special care taken to ensure that the vegetarians/vegans had no reason to complain. And the wetsuits (available on rent) were a godsend, since the water can get very, very cold.
A few things that the hotel should consider:
1/ The first room we stayed in had roosters outside, and they'd crow loudly at 4.00 a.m, and all through the day! It was impossible to get any sleep. The hotel was kind enough to shift us to a quieter room after a couple of days; but I don't envy those who occupied the room we were in!
2/ The staff barely speaks any English and we had a hard time communicating with them and placing requests. When we did manage to communicate with them, though (thank you Google Translate), they were always but always kind and helpful.
3/ The flippers, which were a part of the snorkeling set, didn't come in very many sizes. They kept slipping off. The equipment could be a little better.More
